Does that mean he'll be an underperformer?

Can we get this guy on the court already?

at 12.7 million guaranteed this year, divided by 82 regular season games....we've paid him $1,858,536.58 to watch games.
Is he even traveling with the team or at games? I don't ever see him like I always do FVV.

He had that surgery in June, man. And Rockets organization has a loooooooooooooooong established history of bullsh%%tting us.

DFS being awol on the sidelines for home games has been notable to me unless I just don’t see him. I’ve been wondering if maybe behind the scenes the rockets have some sort of legal dispute with his representatives for withholding information on his injury from them.

Just a theory but I have been wondering why we see and hear nothing about him. Even the broadcast seems to act as though he doesn’t exist.

Nope, it means he'd be like Jalen Green in and out of the lineup and getting benched.

Right now Suns version of Green is rarely stepping on the court at all.

Maybe he's in a hyperbaric chamber so that he can heal faster?

Sounds plausible. I have found this whole thing extremely strange. He was supposed to be our big offseason signing to replace Dillon after the KD trade, but it's near-total radio silence ever since.

There some doods on reddit thinking Christmas day, or little after. 25th game is against his old team.
He still has to be cleared on lateral movements or something like that.

I don't think it's THAT strange - he had surgery to clean up a lingering issue he had been playing on for over a year(that I thought made him look slower than I remember him). It sounds like recovery is going slower than anticipated but given Houston just gave him a 4 year contract and has a fair amount of depth and a lighter schedule to start the season - I think this is all consistent with a team being conservative knowing that:
    A. wing depth will come in handy later in the year more so than now when we have very few back to backs and
    B. he is just starting his new contract so it's important to not rush through his latest recovery - he needs to be healthy to make that a valuable contract for the team...and to make him a trade piece if needed.

I would be a little concerned if he isn't back by the new calendar year - I imagine Durant's minutes are doing to be reduced mind season to preserve him for a playoff run/bigger games at the end of the season so if we don't have that extra wing player to absorb some minutes it might expose us a bit....but not there yet. Definitely something to keep an eye on, but I don't think there is some conspiracy here.

I was at the game last night and he’s definitely on the bench. He was wearing all black yesterday couple times you see him talking with Reed on sidelines.

    My theory is that either:
    1) Team isn't obligated to share more information, and they just don't see the benefit based on the information they have.
    2) DFS wants his privacy and Rockets are respecting his wishes,
    3) There is something preventing the Rockets from sharing more information. This injury did not occur while he was a Houston Rocket. I'm not sure if there are CBA, Hippa, etc, restrictions that require player to consent to medical information being released about a medical condition that was not work related or predated employment.

He’s been on the bench the last 2 games at least.

I don't think we've really missed him much so far because of the fairly easy and lax schedule. But once the middle portion of the season comes and injuries start happening more and KD need some rest days, the Rockets will really need him.

I think it was during Jabari's second summer in the league, Jonathan Feigen reported that he had just been measured at 6'10.75" barefoot. I don't remember specific stories with sources about Sengun, except a bunch of "everyone says he looks taller" and "reports are that he's 6'11 now" before last season. But the NBA now requires measuring players and certifying their barefoot heights during training camp. This started in 2019, but I'm not sure it's every year.

Maybe y'all don't know what he looks like. :D I've seen him several times on the bench. He's usually shown getting up for and cheering for teammates when they come off the court. As a matter of fact, if you watch the highlights of Reed's snatchback-three you can see JD and DFS get up and cheer :
