no worries brother. all good. I probably took that a little too thin-skinned. I'm quoting the Laker fans trolling. Of course I don't think that or that they even think that if they're being honest with themselves. But yes, trying to tank his stock so he's forced to comeback to Lakers, tail between legs, sounds like something a skeezy Lakers GM would do.

Granted it's a rage-bait X.com article based off 2 Laker fans twitter accounts in resonse to literally 1 Rocket fan twitter account that was pining for DFS to hurry up in reponse to the Tari injury.

But damned if it didn't hit a nerve with me, cause I've been ready to see this guy play. He was talked about as a replacement for Brooks's defensive energy. He's casually mentioned in conversations about who should start, especially now with Tari out. We're playing great but some of those games hurt: Detroit...the Spurs punking...and the last game was too close for comfort. Every bit helps. It's a decision I think how Rockets are being selective in how much they talk about or show DFS because I think they're trying to tamper down fans' impatience from heating up.

Other teams squash injury talk too, not just the Rockets.

I know DFS pretty well as a player and he'll be well worth the wait assuming he returns to form. On offense, he's very similar to Jabari except he knows his role and sticks to it. (He's clutch too). On defense, he's more like Tari except tougher, nastier and can play more physical without fouling at the worst times.

In other words, he is the perfect mental and skill fit for the Rockets. I'm totally fine waiting until December.

If our record looked like the clips I would be freaking out but also we would have bigger problems. At this point the playoffs are all that matters so if he comes back fully healthy I don’t mind the wait. He is doing non contact drills now so I expect him to come back before Tari. Also F-LAL

It's not like they signed him not knowing he was injured. Has anything changed?

It's just so weird to be worried about this. Why would we sit and count dollars instead of letting him gram the injury even if it's taking longer than we thought?

Even if he misses half a season he's worth his contract. We're on fire without him. It's our deepest position.

Stop getting your self-worth as a fan from random places on the internet. Rockets are scaring the **** out of people and you better be prepared for as much hatred as 2018.

F#ck Rob Pelinka and his wannabe model skin tight jackets. Can’t stand him or anything about the Lakers.

Sure now knowing the DFS injury was much worse than the org let on is disappointing. But obviously Pelinka was trying to keep teams away and resign him cheap.

With Tari’s injury history and the likelihood Fred would miss time, I’m disappointed that they spent our MLE on an injured player who is likely to miss half the season, but you can keep the “Pelinka tried to warn us” bullsh#t. Lol

I very much would like the rotation (even with current injuries) to be 9-9.5 man. Get those guys ( IE uncle jeff) a bit of run.

I think the team has earned the benefit of the doubt in being willing to wait for an injured DFS considering how they have handled Steven Adams. They spent a valuable expiring contract on him, waited an entire year on his recovery, put him on a massive minutes restriction last year, and now he's signed long term, is key to team chemistry, and is emblematic of how the Rockets want to play offensively and defensively.

Remember that when DFS was signed, the expectation was that Fred was going to be at 30+ minutes per night. If he's truly out until mid-season or later, Rockets likely planned to give a ton of run to Tari/Reed up until the trade deadline and decide whether they were core pieces or trade bait. They could then potentially move them and also work DFS into the rotation for the playoff run.

I value the non-guarantees in Y3 and Y4 of the contract heavily; I'd gladly take missing meaningless early season games when DFS is 32, to not have to guarantee him any money when he's 34.

The Capela contract is already looking like it's going to end in a salary dump/future salary filler as part of a trade. Being able to move off of DFS easily in case he also shows he's lost a step should not be taken lightly.

As long as he’s back for the playoffs that’s all that matters. He’s a hell of a 3 & D player.

Let Dorian heal up properly. Don't let this be a Astros injury record season that was a disaster medical team and trainers.
