he had amazing chemistry with Sengun. Shame his dad had to derail his career.

What happened between the martins and rockets again? I've tried to suppress that era in memory. Was his dad b****ing about the playing time or losing? I remember feeling bummed when we traded him but looks like his best times were in Houston

His Dad took issue of the losing culture and lack of discipline here in Houston at the time under Silas. In my opinion, his opinion was justified at the time.

Nah it was more like he felt his kid should get more minutes. But it turns out his kid is bad and got zero minutes on other teams

It's crazy that Kenyan screwed KJ out of developing under Ime. Imagine if he'd learned to add all-round defense to his monster blocks and giant killing ways? Now he's out the league entirely.

KJ would probably be a better depth piece than Jeff or Tate

Not Uncle Jeff but for sure over Tate

Classic case of hard work over talent, when talent doesn’t work hard

Dude would have been a nice backup 5 if he was 4 or 5 inches taller. Just too small for the NBA. He made up for it when he could leap out of the gym, but even being 25 vs 20 makes a huge difference in your leaping ability. That level of verticality needed to be successful at that role when you are that short limits your NBA usability pretty dramatically. NBA is a tough league. Being a freak athlete at 6'4" just isn't going to get it done.

Disagree. Tate can actually handle the ball and probably has the second best post moves on the team next to Sengun. He can also defend most positions. KJ just provides highlight opportunities. And Uncle Jeff is an invaluable player coach that can still provide minutes when necessary — and can shoot.

He would have bought into Ime's ways and been good at the defensive end.

    Bench crew:
    Eason
    Reed
    Adams
    KJ

    Thanks dad.

KJ, Josh, TyTy, Garuba, etc. -- all of their best times were on a fully tanking team that was avoiding wins. Might just be some reason why they all got more playing time on that team.
