Well, in the Reed is a bust thread I said to give it 15-20 games before making any hasty proclamations. Reed looks better every game, but let’s see 50+ games of good play before getting caught up in Reedsanity. Other guards his size ( except for the Point God Chris Paul) took several years and until their mid 20s to become all nba players. I am just happy that he is playing winning basketball and don’t want/need Reed to carry/run the team for a few years.
Lol, never seen so many threads pop up on one player! I'm pretty stoked by his progress and how he's fitting into the team. His range is opening up our offense and the better he gets the more KD, Alpi, Amen and everyone will benefit. It's also a great sign to see our stars go pump up the kid after he makes a great defensive play. Love how this team is coming together!
My take too. He’s just FUN right now. It’s like he just now figured out that he can do this and you can see the excitement on his face like he was a little kid. I’m happy for him. Hope he can ride this wave and overcome the inevitable poor game that’s eventually going to come without it messing up his new found confidence.
Your perspective is to sane for a Reedsanity thread! However, I agree, we really need to see how he develops/evolves over the season and what his role becomes. However, the early returns have certainly silenced his naysayers (for now).
Me too! I'm just as hyped at how quickly he has progressed with more minutes. I expect some bad games, but I don't expect 5-7.game stretches of brick throwing all season long like I had to endure with Jalen every single year.
Well the dude was tearing up the Gleague, demolished it, so bad that the team called him right back up because it was clear he would not get much from it. I think the NBA for some of these guys is just about confidence and his is improving. He's starting to realize "Wait...I can do this to NBA defenders and it STILL works?" and as he learns that you can tell he's being more aggressive and then you have guys like KD who cheers him on while Reed looks him off. That has to help a lot mentally knowing one of the best scorers ever is boosting your confidence like this. I think right now, Rockets core guys in order are... 1. Sengun...people are not talking enough about the numbers he's putting up, they are insane. He's actually Baby Jokic and Jokic is so amazing that even Baby Jokic is a perennial all-star. 2. Amen, just the ultimate utility player. Can be your leading scorer, stocks, rebounder, assists on any given night. Now this is where it gets tricky... because to me, 3/4 right now is Jabari and Reed. Both are still so young and still have so much to improve but at this rate Reed will surpass Bari quickly. 5. Tari...just even at his best he's a really great role player and his injury issues are really starting to pile up a bit. Hopefully he comes back and has the great season he was having of course.
