Only after the damage is done.
The hot take shows say Mavs fan can get some sense of closure knowing that they were right. It would make me even angrier that the organization was that dumb.

He is either a very incompetent GM or a fall guy, or both.

he can only be the total fall guy/completely blameless if the owners instructed him not only to trade Luka but only trade him to the Lakers and specifically for AD

It can be both. If he is really the fall guy used by the ownership, it is likely because ownership doesn't really value him as a competent GM.

It's somewhat like my hypothesis of Stephen Silas's role for our tanking phase. My theory is that Silas was the fall guy for the chaotic culture performance. He got fired after three terrible seasons. But the terrible seasons were intended by the FO. Silas was blamed for it. Well, if they believed Silas was a competent coach, they wouldn't use him in the role.

Guys like Harrison and Silas are like disposable paper plate. They are useful for a specific purpose for a short time. And they aren't worth much so you can throw them away after the purpose is fulfilled without a lot of wasting.

Ownership was concerned with Luka's injury and his so called overweight.....but got a glass man back who got the same Calf injury Doncic had.

Harrison has the link to Pelinka.........they know each other......and negotiated that deal.

From the Outside, Ownership not willing to pay up Super Max triggered it all, IMHO.

Nico probably thought, AD would just play for Normal Max......and played better Defense but he forgot how AD is injured all the time.

Washed Klay Thompson wanting to play with Luka and now sucking to get shots up, that is the worst. They have to let him go.

So whose idea was trading luka?

Did nico first bring it up to management or did management bring it up to nico?

If its the latter then hes just a fall guy

If he brougjht it up then hes to blame

Who knows. The ownership theory sounds reasonable. It's really hard to believe a GM can be this dumb.

The Thunder unlocked the 3 plus 2 lineup.....3 ball handlers and 2 behemoths.
