They also got more 1st place votes, I think. lol. Purdue beat Oakland by something like 10 points. They weren't exactly dominating from the looks of the score. We're about to play that same Oakland team.

 

I don't like being No. 1 this early in the season. I would prefer to hide in the weeds now and slowly advance.

Early season basketball polls are 100% meaningless

 

Yeah, something like 7 voters dropped Purdue out of their top-5 after the Oakland game.

 

They help with recruiting and media attention and fan interest.

However, you are right .... seldom is the best team on November the best in March with so many kids going pro early. The days of a team dominating wire to wire are rare.

 

Right, and that's all good stuff, I was just talking about the "who is actually good?" angle.

Another strong game for Kingston Fleming. Looking forward to seeing how him and the rest of the team do against stiffer competition Sunday against Auburn.

i know this is Sharp & Uzan's team but Flemings and Cenac are the future if they plan to stay more than 2 years.

 

Kingston is our best player

 

There is no way they stay more than 2 years. Selfishly, we will be lucky to get a second year out of either of them. Same with Harwell. Don't sleep on him either. He is a bit banged up at the moment but he is damn good as well.

 

He is currently playing like it. Hope he can keep it up. Don't remember when the last time we had a freshman on the team that came in immediately with as much confidence and poise as KF.

Sampson talked before the season that despite Cenac being the best long-term player of the 3, Flemings was the most college-ready. He's certainly proven that.
