I've watched him against LSU and Mizzou, he looked solid playing LT in those games (He's not a LT in the NFL) but he also played center and looked very good playing center. Against Missou he handled a big NT him very well. He appears to be a tough, smart, physical IOL IMHO.
Ersery is fine. Could he move to the right side? Sure. But writer talks about him like he’s Blake Fisher.
If the draft fell this way I would hope Caserio would trade back into the 1st rd and pick either Ioane or Sadiq. No Proctor?
Tae is having a decent rookie year, FAR better than Blake's. I presume Tae will work on his body as well as his technique in the off-season and should be a quality OT next season. OL need a season plus an off-season before they really step up. Very few do it in their rookie year.
Athlon mock. 2026 NFL Mock Draft: New 2-Round Forecast Headlined By 4 Top-10 QBs - Athlon Sports https://share.google/vN83cudww8N1OWoC7 Interestingly they have Fanu and then Lamu as the top two OT's to be picked. Excerpt: 15. Houston Texans Caleb Lomu | OT | Utah As if it wasn’t already clear before his latest injury, protecting C.J. Stroud has to be paramount for the Houston Texans if they want sustained success. After trading away Laremy Tunsil this offseason, the Texans need to do everything they can to rebuild their offensive line across the board. Lomu has been a pillar of dominance and consistency over the past couple of seasons, and would team up with 2025 second-rounder Aireontae Ersery to give Stroud long-term bookends at both tackle spots.
I had Ersery as an IOL because he arms (33.33) are a tad shorter than you want for a FLT. That being said, if it ain't broke.... But if we do get a stud OT in the draft, I think Ersery could be just as dominant at LG.
Agreed. If they draft OL in the first it's almsot certainly an OT. If they beat out Ersery at LT then move Tae to LG. If the rook doesnt win the LT spot then put him at RT and Howard to LG. Andrews is still replaceable but his shortcomings would be masked by better quality around him.
Will Campbell practically had T-Rex arms for a top 5 OT but he is the best OT rookie this season. So maybe it’s not all about long arms. It’s nice but it’s not the end all be all.
Yeah, it’s not like either have super short arms. 33” vs the prototype 34” isn’t that big of a deal. If you have good feet and know how to use leverage, that’s far more important
Drake Maye is one of the mobile QBs out there. It's why the Bills' OL looks so good as well. Also, Campbell has 33" arms which ain't exactly T-Rex, but point taken. I am pretty sure his short shuttle was under 4.7 (if he had run it) & he would be a Waltzing Rhino IYKYK.
When it comes to rebuilding the OL, Linderbaum and the Ravens are far apart in contract negotiations, If it was me I would cut Hunter and give Linderbaum Hunter's money, then draft Ioane in the 1st rd and Zuhn in the 3rd. Linderbaum/Ioane/Ersery would solve alot of the OL issues.
2 wrs I'm intrigued by are Aaron Anderson from LSU & Hank Beatty from Illinois. 5th or 6th rounders prolly.
I have seen some vids of Linderbaum getting bullied by IDL. I think even Tim Settle had him on skates when we played. I think Linderbaum is great when he is on the move making blocks, but if you asked him to continuously hold bigger IDL, it becomes a problem. Not saying I wouldn't like him here, but I also think the Ravens see what I have seen and are not currently comfortable making him the highest paid center in the NFL. (Otherwise, they would have just exercised his 5th year option.)
