the 09 class had Steph, Harden, Blake Griffin, Derozan, and Jrue Holiday it’s not even better than the 2018 draft class that had Luka, JJJr, Trae Young, and SGA Best class since Lebron? No way
As I said in terms of depth the 2021 class is looking like its the best class since Lebron. They cant match the peak of a Harden or an SGA but in terms of depth just go down the list there are so many good players in the 2021 draft. You are looking at the whole class itself not just the best players in that class. The guys you mentioned in 09 are like most of the good players in that class. 2018 ok thats 4 all stars. 2021 already has Cade, Mobley, Sengun, Wagner and Barnes as all stars. Pretty sure theres gonna be more in that list eventually like Giddey, Jalen Green (yes I still hope lol), Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels not to mention really good players like Austin Reeves, Herb Jones and Quentin Grimes. Just go thru the 2021 list in the first 20 picks only 4 guys busted out of the league. Thats kinda insane.
that’s not just 4 All-Stars…that’s 2 MVP candidates/top 5 players in Luka and Shai plus a few more All-Stars… SGA is winning MVP this year 2018 draft: Luka, JJJr, Trae Young, SGA, Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Anfernee Simons, Miles Bridges, MPJr, DiVincenzo, Grayson Allen, Sexton, Gary Trent Jr, Bruce Brown not only is the top end talent a million times better, it has depth too
[Smith] Cade Cunningham will see his rookie scale extension jump from 25% of to 30% of the cap by virtue of making the All-NBA Third Team: 25-26: $46.4M | 26-27: $50.1M | 27-28: $53.8M | 28-29: $57.5M | 29-30: $61.2M | Total: five years, $269.1M
He and the pistons have really gotten it together. Crazy how Rockets Cavs and Pistons all went from zero to contenders.
You see 46 points and you think "wow must have been a great game for him" and then you look at the box score and he shot 31% haha. 14 for 45, 2 for 11 from three. That is a disturbing stat line against a 1-10 team. (1-9 at the time I suppose.)
Jalen Green could have scored 50 point if he shot 45 attempts. To be fair, Cade also dished out 11 assists. So it's not like he's a total blackhole. But the usage is insane.
Yeah, it's a ton, but... When you consider that he carried his team to victory, in Overtime, while pitting up 46/12/11/5/2...with only 2 turnovers.... Makes one wonder what he's capable of too.
