Jabari got pushed into the back and the refs called it incidental. KD was terrific and Sengun was cool and patient in the 4th quarter. Props to Reed. Wanna see Tari and Okogie bounce back in the next game.
We were supposed to have DFS, who would at least help with the spacing when Durant is off the floor. I'm not loving that the front office either failed to understand how long he would take to recover from surgery, or chose to sign a guy they knew wouldn't be able to play for nearly half the season.
people laughed at me when i said reed is the 3rd terror twin. reed just needs to stop always reaching. he reaches way too much because he trusts his hands instead of his feet.
Dwayne Wade made a legend out of himself among the least informed fans in the league by committing offensive fouls during the 2006 finals and winning a title based on those offensive fouls being counted as defensive fouls against the mavericks. To anyone paying attention, it appeared that the NBA dramatically changed how fouls were called during this series after Dallas went up 2-0, and were never allowed to defend again at any point over the next 4 games without being called for fouls. Dwade was allowed to jump sideways into defenders while throwing balls into the general direction of the basket and then shoot free throws. Most overrated multi-title winner in the history of the NBA. I hate Dallas and that series made me turn off the NBA for 10 years because it was so obviously rigged.
Its Sengunified I think Amen and Reed are at best combo guards that on a team with Durant and Sengun function just fine as point guards. Amen is a Swiss Army Knife. Rockets went from FVV overrebounding governor slowing the pace to an unpredictable offense that has had great success with high efficiency. FVV just did what Ime told him to because this team couldn't shoot. That strategy maximized our possessions, inflated our D, and reduced TOs. We have Reed, Sengun, Amen, Jabari, Tari that are young players who have all made significant jumps now with the HOF Durant. Its time to experiment, let it hang out, and grow.
I think we can all agree that as a backup point guard, which IS the role he was supposed to take this season behind Fred, he’s doing a fine job. But you are right that he’s not a pure point guard. Glad to see him hitting these 3’s and spacing our floor.
It's going continue for a while to build chemistry. Eventually the blowouts will allow him to pull back KDs minutes.
Exactly. Also, you can’t load manage too much if you want him to be fit when the playoffs start. We will need him for 35-40 minutes per game in the playoffs. I do think though that Ime should play some more bench players in the first half. I mean we pretty much s*cked in the 2nd q. Why not let Tate and Unc some playing time to shake things up? This will allow KD some more rest, then he can have more energy in the 2nd half where you either way play him..
When DFS rounds into form, Rockets will have 10 rotation players. They should be able to keep everyone fresh. At 39 years-old, Uncle Jeff cannot play regular rotation minutes. He's purely a spot player every 3-4 games.
They think it is great depth but either of Amen, KD, Sengün goes down extended time, and the house is about to collapse. You could say Tari, DFS, Okogie and Bari could fill in for XLNC but they are not on that level.
