I would say, they’re a bad offense that only clicks for a quarter here and there, paired with a top-ranked defense that’s also near the top — if not the top — in missed tackles. That’s the Texans in a nutshell.

    So outside of the:

    Pass blocking
    Run blocking
    Play calling
    QB play
    RB play
    Game management
    Missed tackles
    Idiot penalties

    Texans would win the SB?

Not being unpatriotic or anything but I'd love to have one of the hoodies Demeco was wearing, without the flag on the sleeve.

    It's very sharp looking.

He also knows where his bread is buttered. He knew the offense goes with Nico Collins, and he went to him over and over again. Yea sometimes he tried to force it but he knew in order to win this game you have to go to your best and most reliable receiver plain and simple. How many games where we thought is Nico playing? Why isn’t he getting the ball? He was going to win with Nico or going down with him. I give Davis a lot of credit for this game which I didn’t before.

Who would have guessed at halftime we'd have the best comeback performance in Texans history in the 4th quarter? I sure didn't, but I'm so glad I kept watching.

Isn’t McDaniels the current OC for New England? Doing wonders with Maye and their O-line.

Of course he’s probably not going to get a 3rd (or 4th?) HC opportunity, but why would he leave that situation?

    Indeed.

Legit elite defense which keeps Ryans safe.
Terrible/shitty offense with continued awfulness on the line (along with penalties, missed assignments, etc. etc. etc.), and usual slow starts after the scripted drive because the defense may throw something at them they didn’t game plan for.

That being said, when the defense gets tired, the line tends to improve. The two games before featured possession-heavy sequences, which is one way to get the defense tired. I don’t think this is a strategy per se… more the result of an offense that can’t gain yards in big chunks…. But it does lead to the possibility of facing a more than normally fatigued defense in the 4th quarter, and they need every advantage when it comes to this line.

They’re literally inverse carbon copying the first few wasted Kubiak years where they finally were able to build a real O-line/passing attack… but had no coaching or talent acquisition experience whatsoever on the defensive side. They did fire Bobby last year so they’ll be pro-active… I just don’t want their current GM making the decisions on line personnel or trying to convince a seasoned offensive mind on how to do his job.

It took me 3 seconds longer than I'd like to admit for me to fully comprehend this post.

I don’t think he gets fired at the end of the year (and was already guaranteed to have the job through then).

They’ve actually showed resilience multiple times this year (including today) which will keep his job secure. If he loses the locker rom entirely, he’ll probably resign/quit before the end of the season that he would survive.

And if push comes to shove, not sure he wouldn’t rather just go back to SF (like Saleh did) and rehab with familiarity towards another potential HC position.

I guess same could be said for Daboll/Buffalo as well.
