I'm with you bro...Reed played well, but still not sold on his defense. However, he held his own against Gary Trent Jr, AJ Green, and Rollins...I hope Reed proves me wrong when our schedule gets harder because we'll need him to have a successful season. Also, I hope everyone is done with the Okogie hype...if he's not hitting 3s the court shrinks tremendously for KD, Amen, and Sengun to operate. Since Tari is playing well again we should consider moving him to the starting line-up
Another good game by Reed. Despite trading for Durant.... we are still developing a young core with Reed being the youngest right now. It's going to be a process
His head was into being a competitive basketball player tonight. Aggressive about stealing the win. He was not just thinking/worrying about himself.
The discourse around Reed really reminds me of the first Şengün years. People writing him off, calling him unathletic and too small, he even has his own thread with hundreds of pages.
I don't want to jinx him, but when Reed plays well and hit his shots, I can't help but compare him to a young Steve Nash...
Nash's greatest skill wasn't his out of the world vision. If you look at all objective metrics he's one of the best shooters this game has ever seen, something like top 10 Reed needs to shoot anytime he has the ball and is remotely open. Defenses will respect him more and not picking up his dribble will help us dissect
Four steals and a block. For comparison, Green has only had two games with four steals, neither of which did he also record a block.
It's different. Much of the "hate" (really strong, Neanderthalic word but lets just go w/ it for now) for Reed stems from the urgency we have to push for a Chip during KD's last years and b4 Amen has to get max'd. The stuff for Alpi was ridiculous. It cost us nothing when we lost games in 21 and 22. That seemed almost personal. It was hard to come to this site during those years.
so true! He definitely looks like he belongs. Last season he looked several steps behind everyone on the NBA court; that isn’t the case this year! You can literally see the game slowing down for him!
It’s a bit early but I see signs that eventually Amen is freed from some of the burdensome on ball duty and back to be the truly dominating and impactful force from end of last season.
Reed is coming around, his confidence is building, and his shot is falling. Looks like the game is finally slowing down for him. Remember, he would be a college junior this year. His peak is still out in the future. His present is looking pretty good to me.
