I havent watched the full game yet but I was wrong and I apologize to Reed and the Reedsters. Reed played a great game tonight made up for Okogie being in a massive slump.
Great offensive game, and while the teams interior defense was kind of cheeks at times Reed himself wasn't really the cause of that. He really didn't have any significant defensive issues today. Not some lockdown monster, but certainly wasn't getting cooked. It's a process, I'm sure there will still be plenty of ups and downs. But we're not even a month into the season and he has already shown significant improvement. That's why you play him, and occasionally take some lumps for it. Hopefully we'll have a dude by seasons end.
I love seeing KD take Reed under his wing (literally) to hype him up. I don't know if there's a bigger confidence booster than getting praise from arguably the greatest pure scorer ever.
And look at how good he played DEFENSE.....4 STOCKS......he led the comeback - love it.... We have a number 3 pick on his way, let him cook - only Ime can get in his way now. DD
Man I love this team. Steven Adams is like our Greg ostertag. Sengun is like our Karl Malone . Amen Thompson is like our andrei kirilenko. Kd is like our Byron Russell and Reed Sheppard is our John Stockton
I respond to people who post to me like you. I post a lot on every thread you act like this is just where I post. Majority of my posts here are replying to people and then you b**** and cry about it..
Loved his defense tonight. He had a mental mistake or two but on the flip side made plays that are worthy of Amen and Tari's defensive highlight reel. He just played like a hooper. Not only do we not win this game w/out him it's not even particularly close if he doesn't turn the tide multiple times. Man I'd LOVE to see more of this going forward. As Hollins said on the broadcast he's stacking up games man he's stacking up good games!
Come December, we will see an even better version of Reed as he gets more comfortable with more playing time and the swagger that comes with it
Man, I continue to be so grateful that Jalen was traded. Any player that makes me say “wow, I didn’t realize Jordan Clarkson’s stats weren’t so bad” had to go.
He’s still a long long way from being a finished product, and he’s going to have ups and downs this season. But, he starting to feel more comfortable and the shots are starting to fall, so it’s very encouraging. He’s still trying to figure out when to attack and he hasn’t really learned how to get to the foul line, but you can see him progressing. He definitely played a key part in winning this game today.
I believe Reed is getting better at picking apart opponents offense and staying front of guys, but biggest difference is team is figuring out how to help him without over committing to covering him
