So you need 2 of the best offensive minds in the history of the NFL and a great ol for CJ to be successful. We wouldn't even be having this discussion if Scruggs hadn't tripped over his own 2 feet on the Brooks GL run. If the GL offense was good they would have 2-3 more wins and this would be a moot point and because of the condensed area at the GL talent usually wins out. With Mixon they probably win those games and everybody would be talking about what a great job Caley is doing.
A head coach that has a Super Bowl level ELITE unit, to me gets an extra year or 2. Texans currently are #1 in fewest yards allowed AND #1 in scoring defense. Thats with a doodoo offense keeping them on the field longer. Average offense gets them even less defensive plays. While total team performance falls on the head coach, I don't think elite defense is so easy to just let go It's then finding the match on the other side of the ball to complement. Texans have definitely failed at that. It doesn't mean they can't fix it. It then comes down to, if you believe the current management actually are able to fix it.
No its not THAT bad (yet). Texans past 2 years have had as much 10+ win seasons as the previous 10 years combined. It took a 2-14 and 4-12 season for Kubiak & O'Brien to be fired (in season). Don't think this current team is that inept even with the hard schedule. Texans oddly are on pace to have their highest positive point differential in 13 years. So they have the makings of something. Just need everything to come together for a functional offense
Sure you can, the eagles have a bad qb making 50+ and elite talent everywhere. The lions have awesome talent, there’s lots of teams that can do it.
Neither of those teams has an idiot man-child owner who puts church before, in the middle of, and after winning. It's a recipe for eternal failure.
I doubt that has anything to do with it. They just have a more functional organization with much better personnel. Maybe it has something to do with the owner since he hired the correct people I guess.
So trade CJ then he goes to a competent franchise and looks great then the Texans still look incompetent. This isn’t a CJ stroud problem this is a Texans problem. Unless u think the Texans gonna draft the next all time great. Then I’ll pass on this take. I would most definitely get rid of caserio he got us out the mud but I think we need a better GM to get us to the next level. Demeco needs a Former head coach to be OC. No more newcomers McDaniels or some of the others.
Some of the issues have actually gotten worse, but I doubt they’ll get rid of anyone unless it’s a low-level coach or staff member.
I love DeMeco. He's not the problem and neither is CJ. The problem is Nick Caserio. He hasn't been able to field an AVERAGE NFL OL nor have we had any semblance of a rushing attack except when Joe Mixon was healthy. Additionally, we have an unimaginative and ineffective OC. These are the fruits of Nick Caserio. We can win next year IF we commit ourselves to fielding a decent OL and hire a OC that will put our players in positions to succeed! We're only a few players and a OC away from winning it all and DeMeco and CJ are integral to our team.
I’m not in favor of firing the OC or Demeco. You can’t keep throwing whole new systems and coaches at the players year after year. We were making progress the last few games until CJ got hurt. I do think Demeco does some dumb sh*t every game, but he is still very early in his head coaching career.
I don’t get this so in ur world if the Texans fail the QB we trade him then redo it all over again then fail the next QB trade him then do it all over again. Picks are nothing if u can’t even hit on them. Who is to say they even hit on those picks ?
Actually the year before the QBs rookie deal is up is when would draft another QB. From time a QB is drafted to be the franchise QB the window to win a championship is 7-8 years. That's with a top 5 QB. If you don't have a top 5 QB then you gotta keep looking. The worst thing to do is pay a mid tier QB big money.
