perfect candidate. Doubt he takes an assistant job, if we could use fvv injury money on a coach. I would pay him 12 mill a year.

I also highly doubt he would accept the role, but if the pay is good, why not? If we’re aiming for the championship this season, Stone might pull some strings and bring in a high profile one.

    Mike Malone without Jokic

I’d give it about 2 weeks before y’all started complaining

That's not the issue. We need a starting level pg

Tom Thibodeau - New Assistant Offensive : Would be good signing. I think he brings what alot of people seen, he
has the tools to get job done, and exp.

Andrew Nembhard - I think he cost you a lot but worth it. Something Like Eason, Holiday, and 1 or 2 First should get it done.
He basically your Fred replacement for now, but also when Fred comes back. Rockets will probably need both these guys
to be ready next year to win it. I assume Pacer wouldn't trade him and would probably want Pg in return like Sheppard but i give them Holiday. Andrew and Reed would be a big 2 headed monster at pg, and possibly get you far in the playoffs.( Maybe)
Yet Nembhard has the exp you need at young age.

Only rockets fans - our team is the #1 ranked offense over the first 8 games of the season - half this forum is like “Ime can only be good at one thing and clearly its defense”. So strange. Sometimes it feels like half this fan base is posting more than watching games.

I like the old Memphis coach. He had all the rookies going. All our rookies fall flat in their face

A point guard that can get the ball up the court, get the team into it's offensive set and get the ball to Sengun / Durant in their preferred spots early in the clock instead of having either of them bring the ball up the court and work to get to their spots.

As much as I wanted FVV replaced this offseason, he'd help this team a lot right now because they really miss the things he did do well. Just simple point guard play.

Tom is def not the answer for offense coach lol

I do think Andrew would be EXCELLENT here but like you mention doubt Pacers give him up without an overpay

Hey what do you know we drafted one last year, he had 6 assists and 1 turnover last night....and he is about 2.5-1 AT ratio.

    Just needs more playing time.

CFers can take turn doing it for them. We all know how to make the offense better.

And defensively he's almost unplayable - especially in crunch time.

I'm fine with letting Amen and Reed grow up between now and the deadline, the team should still be in the top 4 seeds.

But if they don't improve dramatically between now and then, Stone needs to make a move for a guy who can get the ball up the court, into the offense and play decent defense - You can't continue to put that on KD and Sengun because it makes them have to work extra hard to get the ball in their spots instead of just getting to their spots and having the point guard deliver the ball where they want it to begin with.
KD sure doesn't need all that added wear and tear, you want to keep that guy fresh, not just game by game but throughout the season and into the post season. Our biggest concern with him is an injury.

Reed also struggles terribly with pressure on his dribble, then he defers to KD almost immediately and he's now playing distributor instead of finisher.

At this point, neither Reed nor Amen is near ready to play point guard at playoff intensity. Maybe they get there, maybe they don't - if they don't Stone has to solve the problem, at least short term.
