I think you are right about his shooting. Alpi is the sole reason I hang out here, so in clutchfans terms, I am an SOF and I want him to have all the success one can have, yet it doesn't keep me from noticing the limitations to his game, like shooting/efficiency. There is nothing wrong with pointing it out and most people, except a couple of idiots, would still accept that you are a fan with a critical view. The problem with your posting history is that you almost exclusively point out what Alpi is doing wrong or what is missing in his game. I don't remember reading a positive comment about him from you and a quick glance at your posting history, I only saw one neutral comment and that is it. I don't think you are an alt-account nor a hater. I just think you push the objectivity to the point of negativity.
To fully unlock Alpi you need a real PG. He always had good chemistry with a another playmaker on the floor. FVV, Larkin, Schröder, Augustin... This is one thing I hate about "positionless" basketball. You can't just turn every player who has decent handles into a PG.
His fluctuating performance within the game is crazy. I thought he was having a terrible game. Mental breakdown on missing shots, losing his assignments, falling asleep on D, drawing 2 fouls in a row to be taken out of the game. Ended up having the most impressive box score figures. Best one out of the big three, which says some stuff on KD and Amen. This is the 2nd time he's showing extreme frustration over Reed's plays. Just because he had similar treatment himself, thought he wouldn't do this to his inexperienced team mates. I don't like seeing those gestures on the court.
5 automatic points or 2 assists for him when they would spam the PnR via Fred and Verde. Like Ime, it's also my most missed action. Would have come in handy last night due to the refs allowing everything but chair slams defending the post. Didn't mind it since it went both ways.
Alp and Wemby cancel each other out, strength vs strength. Overall the team played like straight ass. No fight
And they were doing that all night to him and KD, arm wrapped around waist. You have to pay double for that type of action, Cotton.
If he ever actually went to a truly competitive organisation and started stacking rings they'd probably struggle to keep the Jordan is the GOAT narrative going much longer.
Disagree. Jordan was other worldly on offense but he was just as good on defense. Jokic doesn't have a fraction of the defensive impact that Jordan did. The other huge factor is that Jordan had off the chart intangibles that led to winning. Unequalled competitor, super clutch, hardest working player on the floor. Opponents genuinely feared Jordan. Not sure if you are old enough to have seen Jordan but teams schemed for him with 5 players. They just hoped to slow him down a bit because they knew that they couldn't stop him completely. I don't believe that Jokic could be effective with that kind of defensive focus on him.
Yeah that's fair, I didn't even think of the defensive side of the ball. Jokic is just so so ridiculous on the offensive end.
His low percentage isn't a lack of talent, but rather his ridiculous shots. While not as bad as Jalen Green's, Alpere'ns shot selection is also poor. He's still young, and his prime will likely be in his late 20s. I don't know if Houston will wait.
He is scoring 7 pts more than the measly 16 FGs he is attempting. That's star level production. So long as he keeps on that pace, that would put him 4th in MVP conversation in 2019 and 2020. Consider that 4 easy shots at the basket are missing because he is no longer the roll man. He is the one setting things up. I still think he can get up to 8.5 assists for the season.
