Can we scrap the zone at least while Reed is in the game. Watching him pretend to guard people on the perimeter makes me want to end it all
Zone is the key why we out rebounded. It should be a good lesson as we lost both pistons and this game from the same reason.
So we basically could’ve traded Brooks and the 10th pick for Durant, wild when you think about it. Look, I’m not here to defend Jalen, but calling his trade value negative is pure hyperbole. He just dropped 30 in his first game with the Suns and they won. The trend continues. Over the last two seasons, he had 31 games with 30+ points, and the Rockets went 13–8 in those, a .619 winning percentage. Sure, he was inefficient and rough in the playoffs, fine but, negative trade value? That’s ridiculous.
Phoenix would have 100% preferred just the pick and nothing else. We had to make salaries match though. On a rookie or team friendly deal Green absolutely had value, at a near max dollar figure not so much.
Its only one game! This Team will needs to learn how they must play in different Situations. I will tell you on the easiest way why the Rockets lost this game: Keldon Johnson had 5 Offensive Rebounds which turned always into points!! In which World can Johnson take 5 Offensive Rebounds!! The other way to describe the lose: 8 TO from KD and 8 of 18 from the field is not the qualitiy of KD. Alpi played a very bad second Quater thats also a reason. Jabari Smith played a very bad game too! All this needs to happen! They will learn from this game and its only one game! We say in germany: Wipe your mouth off and go on!
Everyone played sub-par, including reed who was good offensively but still a weak point defensively. Jabari was , may be, worse as he played timid,no energy/assertiveness and determination.
3AM and im still pissed. im glad this game was on a friday so rockets can have another game before the news cycle.
This Spurs team is built to beat us. They played well against us when it was just Sochan, Johnson, and Vassel a few years ago. Now add Wemby, Barnes, and Castle and its not an easy match up at all. Let's avoid them in the playoffs lol
Poor coaching effort, effort from our team and offense is just ugly as **** when we still do not know how to cut, where to be, how to pass it to a cutter and on the other end we did not box out, we left shooters open way too often and we just made way too many mistakes with that zone. In general passing is a BIG issue. Nobody on this team passed decent enough in this game and on top of that not decisive enough either. KD is a very poor passer and keeping the ball in his hands, just god awful and when you are in transition, you do not pass it to a big or at someone’s feet, you pass it to an Amen quickly. Guys need to come to the ball for sure, but KD needs to be better. Just be decisive if you cannot handle a double-team as player and as a team. Move quickly so they cannot double. Our handles in general are quite awful, nobody can just hold onto the ball. Capela was doing much better than Adams so should’ve played more. Reed’s coming out party was great, but we needed a coach tonight to adjust. This ****ing ZONE is not it. Sengun taking way too many dribbles too often and is not decisive enough. Played very weak at times too. Jabari was just straight up ass on offense. I also do not like how Amen is not more demanding and assertive when he has the rock. There’s no way he shouldn’t get to the rack every time and can we please run again in transition? Regardless, we need another guard who can handle the ball, look at some Adelman tapes how to properly execute the Senhub, stop with the KD-Sengun pick and roll attempts, play less zone or at least differently so we don’t allow shooters to just be wide open, do passing and box out drills until they collapse. This loss is good in the long run because we need to learn. Will we? I don’t know, a coach that only looks at effort is not reassuring, even if it was pathetic at times. Boxing out could’ve already saved us the embarrassment.
