Anna Bower's "just the facts" observation so irritated Trump's newly appointed US attorney, Lindsey Halligan, that she texted the journalist to criticize her comment on the criminal case against Lettitia James.

    the amateur show continues

After Ana Bower's posting on X today, the insurance attorney immediately responded

Considering Halligan’s past experience as Trump’s attorney, frequently dealing with the media, Bower thought it was “baffling” that she would reach out over text and share so much information without first requesting to be on background, off the record, or some other restriction.

“She knew I was a journalist,” wrote Bower. “She approached me. She invited my questions. She even encouraged me to stop chasing other reporters’ stories and focus on my own.”

“Turns out, she gave me a great one,” she added.

Trump incited the 6 Jan insurrection, and the GOP lawmaker are too afraid to hold the convicted felon accountable

I think this will be the first of many weak cases that won’t result in a federal conviction. As @Astrodome implied, the federal conviction rate is high, which is absolutely true. But that’s because federal prosecution has traditionally been based on merit rather than politics. They typically avoid pursuing weak cases that a jury is far more likely to reject, resulting in not guilty verdict.

Jury acquits ex-DOJ employee Sean Dunn in DC sandwich incident

A jury handed down the not guilty verdict Thursday against Sean Dunn, a former Department of Justice (DOJ) employee who hurled a hoagie after confronting a group of officers patrolling a popular nightlife area of the nation’s capital.

The acquittal marks an embarrassing loss for federal prosecutors, who pursued the misdemeanor charge after a grand jury refused to return an indictment on the felony assault count they initially sought.

The Presidential pardon power says otherwise.

Given how it has been abused, we need to either eliminate or reform that power through a Constitutional amendment.

The entire executive branch needs a severe overhaul.

If I were running in 2026 or 2028, the second thing on my agenda, after economy/jobs, would be severely neutering the executive branch.
