That wasnt her hottest role, though. What was the deal with her hair at the end....you know.."She kind alikes it". Other than that I thought the movie was much better than I expected. I really expected to be dissapointed, but was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was much better than MI:2, especially beacuase ti didnt try to be something all cool and whatnot. It just tried to be the X-Men, and it succeded, good plot, decent action, for the most part well acted, and even comical at times.

Only objection would have to be to Storm and Cyclops. Storm's character was very very cheesy...."what happens to a toad when struck by lightning....same thing that happens to everything else" and Cyclops just seemed kinda weak. Sure, he shoots fireballs out of his eyes, but other than that he was kinda a p*ssy.

I really thought Wolverine was well cast though, and Rebecca-Romijin Stamos did a surprising job even though she never really talked and you never actually see her...i just liked that character.

How about this....What mutant power do you think would be the best to have? If I had to pick one I guess I would go with Proffessor Xaviers, as he can basically control anybody or anything. But Wolverine's is pretty neat too---fast healing is always a plus. Magneto's mutation seems like it could be useful, but not the one I owuld go with (unless, of course, if I was pitted in a direct fight agaisnt Wolverine). Oh well...I ramble on

Nope. The cast is a little thin -- I'm assuming they'll add more later.

Good Guys -- Professor X, Cyclops, Wolverine, Jane Gray, Storm, Rogue.

Bad Guys -- Magneto, Sabertooth, Mystique, and Toad.

Almu, we obviously have different taste in movies. (Must be the age difference, I am quite a bit older than you.) But let me ask you this....With all the advances being made in the computer field, which scenario is more likely:
    1) Genetic mutation to make humans bigger, stronger, and live longer, or
    2) Artificial intelligence that makes bigger, stronger humans no longer needed?
Why try to improve the inventor when the invention is much more powerful?

Behad, I think that people have been worried about artificial intelligence for years and nothing has happened. Remember back to movies like WarGames where supposedly a computer would take over and create nuclear war. Twenty ears ago, factory workers thought that machines would replace them completely. Hasn't happened yet.

I just saw this guy practically get his eyeball replaced using DNA recreation of his whatever, whatever and presto! Now the guy sees like 20/15 after being blind 25 years! [IMG]

But I am looking forward at this, not backwards. The advances made in computer technology are growing at an alarming rate. Replacing an eyeball is one thing, but genetic mutations of the x-men variety are pretty far-fetched. What, in the near future, is more likely: A/I, or being able to grow adamantium metal spikes out your hands? Me, I'm worried about the computers.

Ray Parks...The Toad played Darth maul and he was also the Headless horseman in Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

The Guy is great with a sword and martial arts.

He was not the headless horseman. He might have done the stunt riding for that movie when you couldnt see who the actor was, but when you finally figured out hwo it was it was Cristopher Walken not Ray Park.

Let me re-phrase that ...he was the person who did all of the work without a head. Walken was the person who played him with a head. Ray Parks was the fight coordinator for that movie as well.

BTW...rumor has it that Walken may be playing the next dark jedi apprentiss in the up-coming Star Wars movie. I believe his name will be Darth Bane.

Nobody mentioned seeing the "New Mutants".

It was pretty cool seeing Ice Man, Jubilee, Cannonball, Thunderbird.

I think they will kind of make more noise in the next movie.

Which ones were they? I'm not very familliar with the characters. I figured out iceman (duh) but who are the others? Isn't the girl who walks through walls important too?

Well according to the comic book series, Iceman(Bobby Drake) was one of the original X-Men. So he would have been older than Rogue or at least as old as Cyclops and Jean Grey. I hope he has a more important role in the next movie(Iceman was one of my favorites, along with Hank McCoy AKA the Beast).

I did not see Thunderbird , Jubilee, or Cannonball. Where were they shown?
However I did see one interesting thing. The boy who made the fireball from the lighter behind his back was named Johnny. Would that have been Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four? He was not a mutant and never attended Pro. X's school. He was altered by the cosmic rays that came through the spaceship shielding Reed Richards made..according to the comic book. Again he would have been a little older as well. Maybe this is meant as a crossover movie for the up-coming Fantastic Four movie.

    Cabbage~

Why is Gambit the best X-man? He did not appear in the comic books until a while down the line, although he was very visable in the cartoon series. I like him as well but I have always liked the old school guys: Cyclops, Miss Marvel, Angel, Beast, and Iceman. The original X-men.

i liked gambit cuz he had a badass attitude and had that "mon cherie" accent. plus he was a thief and slink around in corners.. i guess he was rough around the edges. more so than good boy cyclops.

They showed Jubilee in the class room briefly. She had glasses on her head and big ear rings on.

Thunderbird = He made a brief cameo when the Blackbird took off from the school and they showed some kids in there rooms.

Quicksilver (I think that would be him) = Was the kid playing basketball with himself.

Wasnt' there a character called sunfire? In the comics he was Asian. Would that be the kid with the fireball in his hand?

Cannonball was the kid in the redshirt playing foosball with Rouge and the end.

And I did forget Kitty Pryde walking through the wall.

It was rumored that Colossus was there also but I don't remember seeing him.

I am cool with the reference to Jubilee and Thunderbird but Quicksilver?!?

He was very much older than any of the X-Men except for Pro X, in the comic book. The kid playing basketball reminded me of nightcrawler's power except that there no brimestone smoke or the trademark "bampf" [IMG]

The girl passing through the wall was definitely Shadowcat.

Sunfire had the ability to project heat and fire not manipulate it like Johnny Storm could. I have heard that all the actors have signed on for the next one...so lets get it on!!!

I did not see Colossus but I would love to see him in the next one.

I have not yet seen the movie, but how could they leave Colossus and Juggernaut out? I know that sounds like a lot of testosterone flying about, but those too getting it on would have been wonderful to see, if the filmmakers could visualize it of course.

    The Movie Itself --

Brian Singer can do no wrong. Of course, it didn't hurt to have Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart squaring off in a matchup of cinema's greatest oldies...

Everyone's singin' the praises of Jackman but howabout Anna Paquin? I thought she did a helluva job.

    The Cameo's --

The kid playing basketball with himself is the Vanisher I beleiver.

Also, the kid who creates the fireball is neither the Human Torch nor Sunfire. Its John St.Alerdyce, better known as Pyro.

    The Sequel --

Everything I've read points towards Gambit making his greand entrance in the sequel with the Setinels as the big threat, which is mildly dissappointing as I was hoping to see Mr.Sinister and the ultimate baddie himself, Apocalypse.

Could you imagine James Earl Jones doing the voice of Apocalypse?

    Sends shivers down my spine.

I think James Earl Jones is done with villian voice overs. That would be lame and unoriginal. Sinister and Apocolypse aren't that interesting to me anyway. Sentinels would be OK but I'd rather them do Dark Phoenix for the sequel.
