The point guard instincts are not really there. We'll see if this is something he will improve with experience. The best thing for Reed and Amen and the entire team is for us to obtain a competent starting point guard by trade on December 15th. That will allow Reed to play against 2nd teams where he will look better. It will allow Amen to slide to SG where he can thrive as a secondary playmaker. Our current roster is a very awkard fit on offense. Reed has the potential to become a quality starter someday but he's nowhere near that right now. It means little that he can thrive against the Nets scrubs.
He is actually looking much better. Reed in game 2 was definitely his low point this year. on +/- Reed is: Game1= 0 Game2= -13 (where most of the posts here were made) Game3= +9 Game4= 0 Game5= +19 Game6= +5 6 games and only *1* with a negative +/-. Fun Reed Stat: He is +4.3 onCourt and -14.4 On-Off which indicates the team is good with him on the floor and some of our lineups are just destroying people. That is not a knock on him, it just says we have a really good team. His per36 are also well above replacement. He does make silly 21yo mistakes, a couple per game or so that can really turns forums like this against you. He is currently shooting 42% from 3pt range with 3.3ast, and 3boards/gm in 17 min.
