So many takes about our pace rating and us playing slower. All wrong. We're just playing better, more efficient basketball. We're number 1 in offensive rebounds, which extends a possession, #1 in fouls drawn and we make buckets. The #1 team in pace (Miami) is last place in OR (Miami). Our fast break points are within a percentage point of last year's.

Offensive rebounds and fouls drawn can make a team's official pace rating lower because they artificially extend individual possessions, even if the team's underlying style of play is fast. The pace rating metric is a measure of the total number of possessions a team has per 48 minutes, not the average speed or time of each possession.

Steven Adams leads the league in OR in 22 minutes/game which is kind of amazing. Capela is almost as efficient when he's on the floor.
