They really are. But to be fair, at 23, Joker averaged 20/11/7. Pretty darn similar to Sengun’s current line.
He now leads all Centers with 9 dollar throw attempts per game. 1 less than Harden at that age. Superstar foul drawing. Must teach Reed the heeeeyyyy.
Wemby vs. Alpi will be interesting. Wemby is in a slump right now but I am sure he hasn't forgotten how Alpi dropped 45 points on his head. I think he will try to get his revenge. And Alpi will try hard to prove that he as nothing to fear from Wemby.
FVV injury has forced Ime to unleash Sengun as playmaker. He is still turning it over which was likely the primary reason why Ime abandoned it last year. Our margin for error on offense was not good enough last year but now with KD and improved offense the senhub is back and I am loving it! I think with enough reps he will get his TO down.
Fvv injury definitely forced ime. But Senhub was much less efficient with Green. He was literally clogging the whole offense, with no off ball play and decent shot threat. Fvv fits in sebhub because he can play off the ball as a shooter after bringing the ball, Green couldn’t do that.
If Ime's intention was really to use Sengun as the primary playmaker and groom Amen to be the secondary guy with FVV play more off ball, then FVV's injury simply pushed Reed to the new FVV role sooner. Reed is obviously not fully ready. And Okogie is shooting great. If Okogie's shooting cools off, it'll be interesting how Ime will adjust.
I don’t think it was his intention. He never believed Senhub can be more efficient than his pnr offense. I think he was short sighted and conservative but cannot blame him very much. Sengun improved his ball handling a lot. Green is gone and Kd came in. Jabari and Amen improved significantly. Suddenly all the pieces fell perfectly in place. Fvv’s injury is Ime’s, Sengun’s and our luck, it kind of forced his hand. Otherwise he probably would take forever to try it because with this kind of talent in the team, the offense would be good anyway.
I don’t think Ime believed that PnR offense was more efficient rather his view was that low TO and winning possession battle is the best way to win. This was short sighted because if senhub can provide easier basket for team then it would drive up overall efficiency and you have to live with few sets of TO at least initially. The combination of FVV injury and Senguns performance in Euroleage forced Ime to go for senhub offense and the offense all of a sudden has lots of movements and looks way better. Of course having KD makes a difference also but I am not convinced that this would not have been effective last year if we had put little bit more effort.
Sure if they invested in that all season, they would probably get results but ime wanted to win as many regular season games as possible imo.
Wemby has no help aside from Castle. Their starting center Kornett, former all star pg Fox and now ROY candidate Harper all injured.
Petition for Clutch to unban @AroundTheWorld so he can come back and gloat at creating the original and correct "franchise player" thread.
Sengun is coming for his MVP case today. I actually think Wemby is nervous about this one. He's so bought into what people think of him and he knows Sengun is that guy. He's just that dude. They are both going to want to make a case and unlike Eurobasket....Wemby can't duck this one. Very curious to see what happens but I don't think there's anyone on Spurs that can stop Sengun and there are multiple guys on the Rockets that can stop Wemby. All eyes will be on this one.
He is definitely 100% banned. You can tell if someone is banned by trying to tag them using the @sign and start typing their name. If it shows up with the ability to select them they are not banned. I had to type his name all the way out because it did not show up when I started typing.
Wemby has the tools to stop Alpi scoring, but if he does then KD's going off for whatever he wants. That's why Alpi's so potent, you can only take away one, not both and now we've got a legitimate #2 (genuinely, at this point KD's Robin to Alpi's Batman) it's either a double team or the superstar defender not being able to shut down 2 men at once. Can't wait for the game.
Unless Sengun’s shot improves I don’t think this is going to be a game he would want to remember. The Spurs are unlikely to double him, so those assists numbers may not be there. One on one I don’t think he will have much success muscling through Wemby, so he will need to be a threat from outside to bring Wemby out so he can drive sometimes. Even then Wemby has fast feet.
