So we can still pretty much keep him if the management decides to right? Hopefully he will be gotten at a reasonable price.. I wonder how other teams look at him.. will he be worthed more than 2mil per?? I still think he's pretty valuable, at least he hustles, tries, not that bad on offense, and has great attitude.
A lot of guys did not have thier options picked up. A lot of it has to do with the expiration of the current collective bargaining agreement at the end of the season. Teams want to see what is going to happen before committing to unproven players.
Boki will be a restricted FA, but there is one interesting detail about not picking up his option: But this is only a concern if Boki really has a breakout season. And if he did, the Rox will probably use some of their MLE to retain him.
I think that part is already accomplished. He just recently eclipsed Langhi in games played, minutes played, and points scored. Coon's FAQ (http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#34): Coupling the fact that we do not have the right of first refusal with the fact that we cannot offer more than what he would have made on his option without dipping into the MLE, he likely will not be a Rocket next year. If he's worth more than $2.whatever million due to a breakout season, we won't be able to afford him. If he's worth less than that, we probably won't want him.
Makes me sad. I like Nachbar. And I think he's showing himself to be worthwhile. Not great, but a good guy to have off of the bench. His ability to pass to the post and to finish on the break is particularly noteworthy. Also like how much he's improved on defense.
Curious question: How come when Mo T or Ward have one bad game & people here are ready to trade them, but Nachbar hasn't showed me anything except the Karl Malone incident & people here love him....I don't understand is all. Did he have some game that I missed or something?
Nobody is calling for Ward to get traded. And Mo is all about his salary. When you're getting a monster check like that, people will want you to produce. In terms of Boki, some people just like to root on young guys that they think, "can be good". That's why we get Badinae threads all the time, and even guys like Tierre Brown will have posters tracking his progress.
