Remember when he pitched the last five innings of the 18-inning 1-0 win over the Mariners in the 2022 ALDS?
Framber Valdez (FA, Gone) Astros receive a Draft Pick, Cristian Javier (Should be traded, declining), Luis Garcia (Gone), Jose Urquidy (Gone), Lance McCullers (should be traded, declined), Injury List JP France, Ronel Blanco, Spencer Arrighetti Just so much incompetence in the Medical Doctors and Training Staff not keeping the Pitchers healthy except for Framber Valdez.
Thank you for the memories Luis…. What a great pitcher he was for the Astros, but losing another year and taking up a roster spot isn’t feasible for any team. Best of luck Luis Garcia.
Luis Garcia shoild sue MLB for career ending jnjury due to them changing swing my baby pitching delivery. He was fine until they tkld him to change it and pitch time limits.
Javier is declining...? It seems he was getting stronger and recovering better with each passing start...
That was such a difficult game to watch. Maybe the only time I've ever watched baseball and it just seemed like it was impossible for either team to score...something about the fog/haze that was in the Seattle air.
Sorry but it's true his Fastball used to have so much spin. Now it is flat and right down the middle. Used to be called a Invisiball. Bryce Harper had a tough time seeing Javier Fastball because it disappears like a Invisiball in the World Series trying to hit the pitch.
Damnit, I had such high hopes for Luis right up until his injury. He really seemed to be turning into a top of the rotation pitcher. This team's injury luck is the absolute worst.
With the pitchers, its not simply 'luck'. They know all these arms have a finite shelf span. Some quicker than others. They throw the hell out of them from the day they start paying them. And I presume the ones that are costing real money must have physicals/imaging saying their UCL's are intact (or not intact) as well.... so they know how long they have. (flashback to Aiken's 'short' UCL)
