Solid everyday caliber player his first 3 seasons then lost the ability to barrel up the ball. Still, he can say without exaggerating that he was a key player on a World Series winner. Something always seemed odd about him.

Big reason we won in 22. Shame he couldn't build on what he did in 23. He'll be missed...

I will never know if he just had some hot streaks at really opportune times.... or if he has had really bad luck that has got him where he is today.

Regardless, even though a lot of people did not like him around the team, I always appreciated his competiveness.

I am sure Dusty Baker is somewhere grinning with a toothpick in his mouth.

Shoud've traded him after 2023, but we'll always have the memories

Pretty sure at some point a book was shared amongst the league as to how to fully exploit his tendencies… and he apparently lacked the ability (or skillset) to adjust back. This transcended two GM’s, two managers, and then he had some health issues as well (along with also not being a ‘prospect’ with any sort of upside).

Every team has at least one guy who has his peak season and then falls off soon after.

23 Chaz always felt like an anomaly, however to go from what he did in 21/22 to the unplayable version we got in 24/25 will go down as one of the strangest career arcs I can ever recall.

Dusty really screwed him over, however he fully got his chance in 24 and he failed. Regardless, he started on a team that won the World Series so he will always be golden in my book

I agree that it was time to say goodbye. I wouldn’t say he “fully” got his chance in ‘24. He got hurt at the end of April and never got his starting job back again. Whether that was fair or not is a matter of opinion, I guess.

The catch, and the big homer off Cole in '22. He definitely had some Robert Horry-like clutchness and heroics during that playoff run.

He seemed to always be a pain in the Rangers ass as well, which I appreciated.

Chaz had the catch that virtually saved the game for the Astros, vs. his childhood favorite team Phillies in the World Series.

What an amazing player, seemed like an alright dude; too bad it’s time to say goodbye. But Myers took CF from him like a boss.

Think about how hard it is to win a championship. The Mariners have never even won the damn pennant. I’ll always have a fondness for any player that helped the Astros win the World Series
