ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Raptors 10/29/2025

I'm purely talking about KD's mobility, quickness, and agility. All that appears to still be there. He can run the floor in transition, get chase down blocks, and take his man off the dribble and get to his spots at will.

Team defense is will a work in progress due to 3/5 of the starters being replaced and offense seems to come naturally with this group. I also believe it's more of a mentality thing where we know we are so good on offense that we pace ourselves on defense to conserve a little energy. The intensity will rise against elite teams and we will coast a bit against inferior opponents.

If taking plays off means you're old, then Cam Whitmore must be 53!

Agreed on Okogie and DFS making a big impact on our defensive rating. It will take a bit more time to get the cohesiveness a team defense needs in man-to-man and the zone we like to run. Reed just needs to keep building strength to where he's stout like Fred in not yielding an inch when sliding his feet.

 

Reed will never be FVV he is too soft and avoids physicality. FVV takes defenders right in the chest Reed allows them to pass him and tries to go for a steal. Its a highlight based mentality that favors highlights for X and box score watching (stocks!!) but is actual bad defense and will be exposed in playoffs and high leverage situations.

Okogie is great, literal diamond in the rough pickup. He is exactly what we needed and is another vital cog of the rotation just like Adams. We need another guy though hopefully that is DFS.

 

Man has basketball always had this much time off between games?

 

Would you believe some teams have already played 6 games? Others like the Rockets have played only 4.

 

Feels like fútbol right now.

 

I really dislike the way the NBA does scheduling. I always feel like there has to be a way to make it so that it's consistently every-other day aside from the ASB, with no B2Bs and no long waits between games.

 

And we were the first game of the season. This is ridiculous.

Culture setter. Alot of our players have never seen this type of dedication.

 

Surely not even Suns fans believe that.

 

Sadly, some do. I do not blame them. He is the only high lottery pick that you can put the "untapped potential" tag on even though he is in his fifth season. They have little in terms of draft capital or promising players on their roster. Before the season, they were hyping up Ryan Dunn; reminds me when CF was hyping up Tater Tot.
