Barring injuries, Spurs still have to figure out who their Parker is and who their Ginobody (1st guy off bench).... Once they do yes, Mitch Johnson has to step up his clutch coaching as well. I hear he plays a faster and more modern style than Pops...
The Spurs are going to be the second best team in the West this season and give OKC all they can handle if they can keep their big man healthy. The Spurs are legitimate.
they look very good, but need a largre sample the teams they've played so far aren't that great (tor, bkn, nop, dal)
Wemby might be a perennial MVP AND DPOY candidate every year from now on if he stays healthy. We really do need more offensive capability than we have, and I don't mean just the people on the court. OKC are already ridiculous and Wemby looks terrifying, "work harder, turn defense into offense" is not going to match up.
too small of a sample size. need to see him play over a 20 year career before we declare him an all star.
Spurs have a Milwaukee-bully-ball thing going right now. Lots of guys who can play physical ball on drives (both ways) and Wemby lurking in the shadows on D. I think this group will test the limits of this playing style. But the trick is good shooting crushes physical play almost every time. The Suns are blowing out the Spurs going into the 3Q. Fifteen made threes to 8.
Yeah, I was looking forward to this game but it became unwatchable, except for Dylan Harper who continues to impress.
Then again, Phoenix is pretty fragile... They probably hold on because Devon Booker is not a stiff, but they should have cruised in the 4th.
Rockets gonna need to keep the Suns/Spurs game tape on hand for a Wemby cheat code for when we play them.
