I stand corrected then. I guess the bad draft class in 2000 is a sort of sacrifice to ensure that Utah never ever wins a chip lol
Rockets championships happened so long ago we’ll soon be talking about it like we do ancient history BC and AC…before and after championship
Doesn't seem so ancient to me...lol. I recall watching the first one in Austin at the Copper tank and crying like a baby when we won. DD
seems like an eternity ago when the Rockets last won a championship, Bill Clinton was President and everyone was using AOL dial-up
we’re gonna be talking about those championships like how people talk about old war stories we haven’t even back to the finals since
After moving to Houston in 1971, it took 23 years to get a title. The last title the Rockets won was now over 30 years ago! The drought has been bad!!! A lot of teasing at great teams, but always falling well short of getting to the finals!
"Back in my day, the stars did 'Dream shakes'... what was that sonny? Dream shakes? It's when they shoot inside the 3pt line, you wouldn't understand"
I kinda took those championships for granted because never in my wildest dreams did I think that 30 years would pass and we wouldn’t have even been back to the finals once I might as well start using before and after championship to refer to things Rockets relocated to Houston in 23 BC Harden was with the Rockets from 17 AC to 26 AC
I was infuriated, cursing the TV, as if it had anything to do with what was on it and who was in that damn Bronco.
I was on a work trip to NYC during the second run and found a sports bar in Tribeca that was showing the first Spurs game. Everyone in that room except me was still pissed about the previous year but by the second quarter they were all cheering Dream. It was amazing to watch. Oh, and don't forget to point and laugh at Utah.
Same with going to the Finals even.....not even a chance at a title in those years. WCF appearances also limited for a Top 10 market.
