Why not both......I am guessing the attitude and him having problems with the Villanova coaching staff probably weigh more.

This dude is a criminal. Literally.

18 months ago he was arrested for shoplifting groceries, body wash and candles from a Target on 7 different occasions WHILE PLAYING FOR THE WIZARDS!!!

Only in the NBA can they overlook such blatant disrespect for law and morality. NFL is right behind them.

Naw man. Stealing body wash… gotta lock up that trash. If you steal 230 million dollars from the doj or run a crypto scam for billions then you get to be on Mount Rushmore in this country.

He's in the same roster spot, 9th man & garbage time minutes guy, with the same contribution- on a 22 win team that is going for AJ Dybantsa ....

....as he was on a 52 win team that was trying to beat the warriors.

That's the real world definition of a replacement level player!

Give him time - FFS - they are just figuring out each other.

And here, he was not the 9th man, he was more like the 12th guy and Ime clearly didn't like him.

Lol only the NBA and NFL? Try... the world. If you can make people money, they will always look the other way when you eff up. This is a salient truth across every facet of our society, from promising high school athletes all the way up to the White House.

Serious question: After 5 games, is there anyone here that still regrets the Rockets traded Cam?

    If so, please explain why.

EDIT: IMO, the average collective IQ of the Rockets increased 15 points just by dumping Jalen and Cam.

Not that he wasn't worth it but regretted not taking another player with the 20th pick, a lot less drama with a more mundane player if you will.

The highlight reels were pretty, that was about it.

I remember what a professor once said: “if you see a $20 bill on the ground, the first thing you should do is ask yourself why it’s there.”

Market inefficiencies are much less rare than people think, especially among large groups of professionals. If you see a draft prospect ‘fall’, or a gambling line ‘make no sense’ or a trade that seems ‘a complete steal,’ the first question shouldn’t be “why are they so stupid?” but rather “what am I missing?” Of course sometimes the industry is wrong, but that shouldn’t be the default assumption.

The more arrogant among our posters have never been figured this out - they always assume their unique ‘insight’ is better than the collective wisdom of the industry. And despite being often wrong, they never adjust … which is why they aren’t actually in the industry (or frankly in an important position anywhere else - it turns out no one values unearned arrogance).

The Collective discrimination against Euro players is what made Jokic fall in the 1st place and the Disrespect was Playing a Commercial when Joker's name was announced.

This goes in history as one of the worst Blunders of the NBA.

The bias against Euros should be that most are skillful, fundamentally sound and smart.

And it is right in most cases.

I think the pendulum swung too far against Europeans, which also impacted Alperen. But to be fair that was after swinging too far in favor of the ‘unknown but skilled European’ archetype, which was all the rage for a while (see Darko ahead of Carmelo, Bosh and Wade as the epitome). It might already be swinging back the other way … for all the complaining of Reed at 3, imagine if we had Risacher at 1!

Of course there are groupthink biases, individual mistakes, etc. … but I still contend that the collective assessments are right far more than they are wrong - and definitely far more often than random people on message boards. And they were definitely right on Cam.

In general I agree, but then you get things like the Luka trade. Sometimes people are that stupid and have blinders on to how “off market” a transaction they have made.

I don’t care anymore about Cam Whitmore as he is gone. I do think owners and GMs have to step outside of consensus and keep trying to find value. On this board, we are hoping every value pick or trade turns into James Harden or Alperen Sengun for the Rockets.

I don't think it's about Euros. The bias is preferring athleticism over skills and intelligence.
