Beware the dastardly TRADE THREAD. It makes sense, if only in roto. Rox send Howard, JJax, Lue and a #1 to Sac. Sac sends Peja to Indy. Sac sends BJax to Rox. Indy sends Sac a #1. Indy sends Artest to Rox. Why: Rox. Bobby Jax with Ward and a recovering Sura give a good situation at the Point. Artest is a talent, and a trouble. He seems like JVG and his coaches = right fit for RA. Why: Indy. They want Peja, they want to move Artest, but only for a stud. Why: Sac. Both guys they lose are coming closer to large extensions. Their chemistry is poor, their window is shutting. They can't trade C-Webb so bring in his buddy. Their depth is poor, and JJax was outed only due to luxury cap problems. They get two #1s. Why not? Indeed, alas, and alack, why not (sigh).
Not a bad trade, but I don't think Sac would do it. Yes, Peja wants out and there are some problems. But I don't think they are in any rush to make a move, and certainly not in a rush to make a move that doesn't bring them a star in return. Sac doesn't really need Howard, they have Webb/Miller/Ostertag/Songalia. And JJ/Lue/1st round isn't really worth Peja, especially if they can get a guy like Carter. But hell ya for us.
I hope Indiana and the Rockets give Sacramento the courtesy of a reach around if the deal ever went down.
There have already been trade talks between Sac and Indy for a swap of Peja and Artest. I don't see why they'd go for this.
I think JJ would have a fit if we traded him back to Sac. after they didnt offer him a contract. please leave JJ out of this.. haha I feel for the guy. I would love to get BJax since he wants to start somewhere and showcase his skills. I dont think Sac is interested in our garbage while they lose both BJax and Peja. JJ is not garbage but he is getting old actually so is JHoward. so JHoward / Lue / JJackson for BJax and Peja (in essence) would you do it? I would move MoT/Lue/JJackson for BJax and CWebb. I think CWebb would be a great fit with Yao and Tmac knocking down the short jumpers. Sac does this to move his contract and rebuild the team around Peja .. We do this to move MoT's contract and pickup a solid PG.. BJax Tmac Boki CWebb Yao sounds like Championship to me.. say what you want about CWebb (hes lost a step/he cant explode) neither can Jhoward or MoT. His contract is a huge but if Les is willing to spend the money I would do it. Cwebb is exactly what we need at PF knock down the midrange shot with regularity .. rebounds well .. and defends as well as our 2 PF's. BJax doesnt need any explanation.. J
Chris Webber's midrange jumper and passing will be a positive for Yao. If we can really get CW +BJ, well we can win the championship this year: Yao + CW = best front court in the league TMac + BJ + Sura (Boki) is instantly dangerous because of TMac.
Maybe a more realistic trade: Houston sends: Lue/1st round pick Houston recieves: Bobby Jackson Indy sends: Artest Indy recieves: Peja Sac sends: Peja/BJax Sac recieves: Artest/Lue/1st round pick
I would NEVER take on C. Webb's contract! U'd have to be a fool to trade 4 him. & i think gucci888's idea makes much more sense and id pull the trigger on it too.
well... I din really read any article of such, but I heard from ppl who watch the Pacers Vs Wolves game where the commentator has been repeatedly saying that......
I think Sac has been trying to dump CWebb and his contract for awhile now.. If we can move MoT and Spoon we can afford CWebb's contract. He has a monstrous ugly contract but he is at least a productive player and will be a good side kick for Yao and Tmac. J
...and T-Mac. The guy is probably the 4th best player on his team, behind Bibby, Peja, and probably Miller. Yet he shoots like he's the #1 option. I would not want to pay someone max money to take 20 jumpers a game for the Rockets.
We need shooters. Your offer straight up for Peja, I will do it, not for Artest and BJax. They are not the type players that will compliment our big two.
Jackson could work here I think, but I don't think any of these trades will work with Sacto. They dont' want a low #1 (cause that's what we'll have this year regardless) and a backup PG in lue for a starting-caliber PG. They're not really looking to just clear cap space (cause that's what this deal would do with Lue coming off) Artest..I love the guy, and that part of me wishes he was here. But I don't think he'd fit in. Now that he's shown he has offense, he wants the ball...he wouldn't get it much in this offense except spotting up. He'd start complaining, and I don't think he'd sit right. He'd lose it and have to be moved. Carlisle has done a great job at holding him down, but he's the only one that's done it (ala Phil and Rodman). And the no-shots thing will only add to the fire.. CWebb, I can't believe anyone wants to touch this guy. I'd rather have Brian Grant. At least he works inside. Shoot, I'd rather have MoTaylor of this year going for rebounds than the 1-inch jumper (and softy) that Webber has become.
