I hope we not signing Anderson, waste money

    Shandon closes
    in on door

The Knicks appear to be moving closer to severing ties with veteran small forward Shandon Anderson, who has fallen out of favor with Isiah Thomas.
A buyout agreement could be reached sometime within the next few days that would make Anderson a free agent and clear a roster spot for 6-9 forward Eddie Robinson, who Thomas is considering signing.

Anderson is scheduled to earn $24 million over the next three years. The Knicks would likely have to give him between $20 million and $22 million. Utah, Houston, Miami, Detroit and Toronto are among the teams that would be interested in signing him.

    GOOD for Shanderson
QUESTION: Will he limp back to Utah with his tail between his legs? Will he retire? I think he may end up with Atl - He is from there . .. and he can make a few bucks

I think he CAN be productive. . . he needs the RIGHT system though

put him in Sloan's system again and he might make people believe that he actually earned that money.

Could he be a worth signing if Tmac needs a couple games of rest?

For the league minimum, I wouldn't mind bringing him back if he can still play defense. The downside is that would take away all of Boki's minutes who seems to finally be developing a little. If Boki doesn't produce, Shandon Anderson would be a nice wind fall.

I would prefer us to bring in a scorer guard IF ever Tmac would sit down...but i have no idea who we can get.

Also, Big Dog may be shown his door later this week.

Now, both have been linked loosely to the Rox previously by media suggestions.

So, how would you feel about either/both landing here in Clutch damn City?

Me -- no to Shanderson. Yes, I think, sort of, at vet min, for GRob.

If Anderson is released my bet is he goes to Miami. But I wouldnt be against bringing him back to Houston. We could use another "swing" player. I know we have Sura coming back and that is going to really help but having another capible BENCH guy like Anderson that can come in in case someone is injured or needs rest is a big plus. Anderson for the veteran's minimum is a good deal. Same thing with the Suns getting Outlaw with the league minimum.

Didn't we already have this guy on our team once? Yes, we did, and what did he do for us?

    Nada.

    Zip.

But I am sure, now that he is even several years older, he would be a great addition to the roster.

    Yuk.

Maybe Big Dog, though.. but the guy thinks he's a star, and we don't need any more stars, we need smart role-players.

How bout we just let this team develop together for a bit, and see how it goes for a a couple months before we start trying to 'fix' something that maybe ain't even broke. :)

NOT the same thing IMO. Bo O to Phx was a great move for the desert denizens.

No move, whether to Miami or elsewhere, would be particularly good for the team that gets SA. He's ok (in the right set up) but, so what?

For whatever reason I am intrigued at the idea of bringing in Shandon Anderson. As a rocket I remember he had a few good games , not many, but maybe in this new system he wont have to hover around the three point line as he did under the Rudy-regime.

The best thing that could happen for HIM would be to go back to Utah. So in that regard, I hope Shandn Andersn ends up somewhere like Toronto ;)

He might be a good backup to JJ and T-Mac. Let's sign him for the minimum.

I think with T-mac's excellent passing ability Shandon could be a great pickup if the price is right. He would provide quality depth at the 2-3. I like Nachbar, but he is foul prone.

I agree. It seems like he may be able to excel as a role player in our system, which is all we're looking for at this point. However, I do think that Boki is on the cusp of breaking out and I'd hate to bring in someone that might hinder that development.

Either way it shakes down will be OK with me, provided we don't sign Andersen for more than the vet minimum.
