Hope the Rockets are working on their offense since they have some days off because it’s been **** so far. If Sheppards mid range floaters were falling the first 2 games, we would have been 2-0 right now. I think it’s too early to panic. Once everyone gets comfortable with eachother, it’s going to be super fun.
Here's something that Ben Dubose wrote about the '27 draft class: https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/st...draft-as-lacking-elite-prospects/85205742007/
2027 draft is hot garbage according to analysts similar to the 2024 draft. Not sure how they are able to predict but so far they have been right I've heard the 2024 class was garbage since 2021 and they said 2025 and 2026 would be awesome so far thats been the case.
sure there’s guys that can develop and take a leap no one expected, but they scout these guys early in high school and they have a good handle on the elite talents. Many of us have been flagging for a while the 2026 class is supposed to be one of the better drafts, with several elite talents. And I’ve been reading going back to last year that 2027 could be worse than the 2025 class. While I see the benefit of adding additional draft capital, I would have liked to keep that Nets 2026 pick. It has a very strong chance of being a star talent. But it’s clear to me we are likely to trade our picks rather than use them. It will be interesting to see how much value our 2027 picks have. the team I’m really jealous of is the Hawks who own the 0-3 Pels 2026 1st. I don’t see how that doesn’t end up a top pick.
December 15th is the day players who signed contracts this past offseason become trade eligible. The date the Rockets are looking at is January 26, 2026, after the 45th game - that's when they have enough cap space under the 1A to sign a minimum contract for the rest of the season. They currently have $1,255,588 under the 1A, that equates to 54% of a vet min.
