It is great to see how he has grown with his shot. In his Rookie year he shot everything around the paint with a strange one had shot. Even from the free throw line.
Not sure what happened to his close range shots. Had a wide open floater to tie it but instead took a second then bowling balled into throwing the ball to the bottom of the rim
The same with Jabari. KD set him and Sengun up with nice plays out of the double team at the end of the game and instead of shooting the midrange shot they both dribbled into a crowd just to lose the ball.
The stats nobody asked for: Through 3 quarters, Sengun initiated the offense from the back court and beyond, 13x 4 of those went for assists. 2 were Turnovers, 1 was a missed lay up by Amen. Three were drives for him. 1 of 2 on those drives, plus the flamingo shot that didn't count(freebies) The last three were hand offs to Durant. Jabari brought the ball up 2x Durant 2x
There was a stretch (don't remember which quarter, maybe 2nd), the Rockets didn't even pretend to have a PG. The only guard they had on the floor was Okogie who is a career 2.2 assists per 36 minutes SG. Alpi Bari Tari KD Okogie
This is interesting: Sengun +37 Adams +18 Amen +16 Jabari +15 Tari +12 Durant +9 Okogie +7 Reed -4 Net Ratings: Sengun 15.2 Amen 10.9 Tari 9.8 Adams 9.4 Jabari 7.7 Durant 3.1
Here is something that might be interesting for those of you who followed the EuroBasket: all the important Türkiye players are having a great season so far. Cedi Osman, Ömer Yurtseven and Ercan Osmani in Euroleague, Adem Bona for the Sixers and of course our very own franchise player. They all really benefited from their experience at EuroBasket.
It's a fairly common phenomenon when the national team players reach their peak form in the FIBA competition and then start their club seasons really strong, but after a while they suffer bad stretch when their form inevitably drops.
Hey, maybe Stone and Udoka are playing 3D chess. Sengun is their real PG. Adams is their staring C. That's why they wanted a backup C for Adams and didn't need a 3rd string backup PG behind Reed.
= ) Jabari was feeling himself. The most posts ups this season for Alpi, 12 post ups. He was averaging 5 per game. All while initiating the offense from above the 3pt line 23x but only brought it up twice. Magic Johnson out there. I do miss the Pick and Roll. rip
