Its on Reed as he was -13 and the next worse guy was -6 so he was doubly worse than the next guy. We lost by 4.
I think Reed will be TJ Mconnell. So we got a role player who will only be good after more years of development.
This team has no real chance of challenging for the top spot in the West with Reed as the PG and Tari Eason as the sixth man. I'm not saying Reed will ever be a useful player, but right now he's not a PG for this league. As for Tari... he confirms my worst fears, another classic case of bad attitude in players who think they're better than they really are. If he doesn't change his attitude, he has no future in this league.
Reed was dealing w/ the Pistons starting backcourt. Bari was defended by Duncan Robinson on critical plays and Sengun was going against the Pistons 2nd and 3rd string frontcourt players for half the game while somehow at his baby-giraffe-on-ice-skates worst. I'm with you man. But I blamed the entire OKC game on Reed. It's only fair to hold our superior players to a superior standard and they - especially Alpi - underperformed worse than Reed. I expect Reed to get wrecked vs Ausar and Cade. I expect Alpi to foul out Paul Reed in about 10 possessions as he grabs every rebound that exists. I suppose it's just relative to my expectations.
Reed is a top 3 pick he is making 10M a year and also cost us a top pick to get. Expectations should be high on him esp looking st other players taken after him balling out. People keep saying 2024 class was bad but so many players playing well now taken after Reed including Ron Holland. He is like Jalen in the 2021 class but much worse. Also no way did Alpi perform worse than Reed. Alpi was 17/7/7 with 3 steals only 3 tos. He had the 2nd highest plus minus after Okogie.
We could always hold on to him so he tanks his value. Then give him some weird short contract with player options to "prove himself." Then trade him for KD. Oh yeah we already did that bit. Just trade him now for another piece that would actually help us.
I doubt it is that clear cut, I think his contract negotiation time is just bad timing.....coinciding with the funk that he is in. The Worst Fear should be that he is not completely healthy and fit......and the Organization is somewhat giving it a go......
So much hedging from the Reed haters in here. If you’re gonna hate on him then do it with conviction. Stop leaving yourself a way out once he turns it around. Uh uh, maybe in 10 years he can be a TJ Pritchard.
I don't know about franchise player, and I know his shooting has been rough (and his defense has been rougher outside of his hands being elite as always)...but I also do see a lot of positives. Firstly, he can hit the open three CONSISTENTLY. Low bar, I know, but besides him and Jabari and KD, none of our other main guys can do it, so that's good for stretching the floor. Secondly, he's shown me that he definitely can get to the paint, though he does get trapped and has turned the ball over, he can cut through the defense and even split the p&r and double teams! We've had a pretty rough start to the season record-wise but we're getting used to a new roster and don't have our floor general. This is Reed's trial by fire and if he comes out of it a good player, it'll be great for us
Ok so whats gonna happen to you now that he sucks? What I hate about people like you always want the other guys to take all the risk. You want others to "not have a way out" so if by some miracle Reed turns it around you can clown on them. But what are you doing now? Are you clowning yourself now that Reed sucks? No right? You are just keeping quiet and lying low like maggots in old wood. Its like last year guys like you keep quiet for 49 games and then the 3 games he was good you guys started @ everyone who hated on Reed. Grow some backbone and dont be such a clown. If you are quiet when Reed sucks ass you dont deserve to call out other people when he plays good. If you want others to not hedge why dont you set an example and start not hedging first? Tell everyone you think Reed is gonna be the next superstar in the game thread so when he plays bad you get clowned. Thats only fair right?
I’m not the one saying that he sucks. Only knee jerk jabronis who don’t know ball would say that. But if I did believe that he sucks, I would say…he better start learning Tagalog because he’s not even good enough to make it in the CBA.
You're not the one saying he sucks but you're the one claiming he's gonna be great right? So if you wanna clown people once Reed turns it around you should start clowning yourself now because he is playing bad. Thats just fair right?
