ClutchFans Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets 10/24/2025

The two teams we faced are as big as the Rockets thats why we dont have an advantage. Look at their starting 5 height before you complain.

We lost this game because we cant hit 3s and Reed Sheppard played 20 mins and got decimated, bullied and humiliated for most of the game. Pistons were isoing and targeting him every play.

The next games first order of business is move Okogie up the rotation over Reed. Why Okogie plays less mins than both Reed and Tari? Reed and Tari are dumb and dumber lets give other players a chance.

 

but i gotta say, Okogie is growing on me... id give him Sheppards minutes and ship Reed back to the g league...

I'm also thinking giving Uncle Jeff some minutes may help settle some of the chaotic play...

 

probably tired though. I thought he should have done a hockey lineup change in the 2nd quarter when they all played lazy and poor. Tate holiday JD okogie durant in everyone else out

 

Here's an interesting stat:
Steven Adams was our 3rd leading scorer tonight with 10 points.
Jabari and Amen missed way too many open shots.
Will the real Tari Eason please stand up! Geez this dude forgot how to play basketball...

 

Not that it helps but Boston and Dallas are both 0-2 as well.

 

In offseason, everyone said we badly need a guard.

But Stone and Ime are still crazy about more centers and forwards.

Why exactly did they get Durant then?

 

A veteran on this team (Uncle Jeff, Adams, KD, Fred) needs to pull Tari aside and tell him that pouting and checking out isn’t going to get him the contract he thinks he deserves in the offseason. I get he’s frustrated, but this isn’t the way to handle it.

 

I think we really should be expanding the rotation for this reason.

Sometimes there's no energy out there and when we did have energy, in Okogie, good things happened.

I'm not asking the team to rely on Tate, JD, or even Holiday, but sometimes it's good to go to bench guys who have something to prove, who are fighting for minutes, just to up the energy from your team.

 

I was SO excited for this season.

Then FVV got hurt, and as much as I know he's not a star and has his faults, that excitement dropped like 50% because I know what he means to this team the way its ran.

After these first 2 games... my excitement has dropped like another 50% my god. I don't know what some of you see, its not about panicking or freaking out, its just... so much facepalming I'm not even sure what to be excited about. Our style of play is lifeless, there's zero go, spark, or intensity... and without any kind of quarterback, I just don't understand how we put it together. We desperately need a mature point guard, and we have nothing like that right now, so every half court set is painful to witness.

Could it get better? I mean, I guess... sure its only 2 games.

Will it? No. As-is, we look like a .500 team.

 

I don’t know what to think. Other than we need a Fred-placement!

 

Boston probably wants to be 0-2 tbh...Tatum out for the year, they will be looking for any reason to tank.

Trying to put my finger on what I saw tonight. One of the most glaring changes in this team other than the trade so far, is the lack of a mean streak. I don't want to say toughness but it is what it is. I know only 2 games in, but can you imagine if Jalen, Fred, Tate or Dillon were on the court, and saw that blatant cheap shot by Duren. All of them would have been in his face immediately. Not one of those guys on the court even looked at Duren or got in his face. With all his flaws, Jalen always had his teammates back in those situations. He was always ready to go. Those gestures builds chemistry. As for Dillon, I'll say less, y'all know.

This was the kind of game where Tate, and Fred would have been effective because they are some tough SOB's, who can play the muck it up game with the best of them. With that said, they weren't. Well, as for the offense, they need to be more cerebral on offense. Find the freaking open man on the perimeter, and build some better chemistry. Still a 55 win team without a mean streak or a PG, let that sink in. This team will be a juggernaut in January after Stone trades for Jrue Holliday.

 

We have guys. Okogie is a guard. Ime just needs to play them over Dumb and Dumber Reed and Tari.

Got blocked 5 times, and 3 TOs.

They should be in the rotation. Tate makes winning plays time and time again. I might seem hard on Reed but it’s frustrating to see him make the wrong plays out there repeatedly and in this league mistakes like that is the difference between winning and losing. He literally missed all of his layups which he just threw up wildly many of them. Holliday has made winning plays. We can’t throw games like these away. Just can’t in this competitive league. And I get that they want to see what Reed can give them but why not bench him if he isn’t performing the way he benched Green? Baffling to me what’s going on right now but i hope these lineups change

 

We were bad at half court even last season. Thats why we lost to GSW.

Ime just needs to play guys who play with intensity. They may pick it up later but so far Terror Twins Reed and Tari are terror to the Rockets not the opponents.
