His perimeter defense is bad, and he's still not strong enough to handle most forwards/bigs. Stone gave him a huge contract
Zero skill. Literally none. He fades away against Duncan Robinson. People out here were saying that Jabari contract was going to be a steal. Yea tf right. He's literally the definition of only being in the NBA because he's tall.
That shizz irks me every time! Jabari gets a smaller guy in the post and then shoots a fadeaway shot...smh
2022 draft out side Pablo was weak. Jabari has very good skill set, and could possibly be 20- 10.player in 5-6 years. He's only 22
I don't see that. I haven't seen much development. Can't create his own shot, can't dribble and can't defend. Tell me what I'm missing. We got unlucky with Reed and him
knecht? 2021: cade, evan and scottie 2022: paolo and chet. obviously the #12 pick jalen williams is also better but i'm not holding that against us because he wasn't viewed as a top 5 pick. if we somehow believed in him we would have traded down, not draft him 3rd. 2024: castle i guess 2022 was really the only year we were unlucky in that the only highly rated players worth drafting went 1 and 2. in 2021 evan and scottie went after jalen and castle was picked after reed.
He also played pretty good defense tonight, other than Okogie he was likely our second best defender tonight on effort alone. As you said, let's see how the season plays out rather than freaking out after 2 games. Trash ass threads always putting down our players lol. We gave this dude a 5 year deal, he'll likely be here for a very long time and hopefully be a key part of something special. Not sure it's a good idea to try to spread some bs derogatory nicknames for one of the younger dudes on the team that the management and the team clearly likes and is investing in long term. It does nothing to help the Rockets and can actually hurt the team if the sh*t catches on like how Westbrook became an even worst shooter after everyone started calling him "Westbrick". Dude used to be an 80% free throw shooter but the more people spread "Westbrick" around the more he seemed to regress in shooting and ended up being a 60% free throw shooter his last 6 or so years or whatever. And even publicly talked about the impact of that nickname not just on him but also on his family. Jabari is clearly one of our better shooters and has very nice mechanics. After KD and Reed he's probably the next best shooter along with Holiday. It's kind of stupid to try to get some bs nickname to stick to him if you care at all about the Rockets. Just my two cents.
scottie barnes is wildly inconsistent and can’t shoot. He’s just a freak big dude that plays great D and can run point. Although his mid range and driving has improved.
