The big lineup also gave up a bunch of open three's, but luckily the Pels were missing. We also gave up a lot of drives and points in the paint.
It's hard to judge Adams's value on offense. He puts so much pressure on the defense to keep him off the offensive glass that even though he's a non-shooter, he still occupies at least one defender on him. But we need shooting to unclog the middle. It will work if the outside shooting of Amen and Sengun improves significantly. On defense, I feel that zone defense confuses ourselves. There are lots of miscommunication. Perhaps it will get better with more reps.
Against GSW, the Rockets got killed in the 8 or so minutes a game when FVV sat which usually was not double big lineups.
I’m not discrediting Adam at all. I believe he is one of the top players on roster that opponent really plan ahead due to how impactful he is but I don’t think Capala can handle double big role like Adam is when he is not playing back to back or not feeling too well during regular season. I don’t mind going double big when the situation is right but don’t think it works as permanent solution to our FVV absent season
It is really bad when it is your 1st choice of lineup. Really hate the Capela pickup and going to Adams that much. Every other team is having ball thieves stealing the ball....
I don’t see us catching fire unless we get one of our guard start hitting shots. Double big does not help Amen, Sengun and KD getting to the rim
Playoffs vs certain teams. I always thought it was dumb. Sengun is handling the ball too much in the backcourt. No dribble Jabari too. Shepperd needs to get himself together
Lots of issues with the double big if they arent going to rebound and dominate inside. Those are supposed to be the two main things that make it successful. It clogs the lane for cuts, amen cant drive or cut so hes almost useless in the half court, kd cant operate with space in the mid range, sengun cant post. Defensively we give up way too many open shots. Right now we are getting all the weaknesses with none of the strengths. Hopefully Ime scraps it soon.
Clint is washed so there’s no point of running double big, just save it for clutch time not starting out. We are hurting on fast break point and switch is way too slow for zone defense. Sengun and Amen is playing absolute dog water without spacing. Just freaking start Holiday to bring the ball up and put Amen as SG
