The funny part about all of this, is that there are still people within the fanbase AND front office who don’t believe Sengun is the franchise player. Mind you, this is the guy who in a down year, made the all-star team at 22 years old and was one spot away from All-NBA. The guy who’s offseason work actually translates to real games and consistently gets better year after year. But nah. Let’s overhype the next flashy athletic guard, who still can’t shoot or run point guard. (And I say this as someone who loves Amen).
Dude, come on. Amen is one of the players who makes this team watchable. OKC played that game like they were in the Western Conference Finals — their defence was locked in. They did a terrible job locking the paint. And just like OKC took special measures against Sengün and KD, they had to do the same against Amen. Even so, Amen went after that defence with guts. He opened up the offence many times. That OKC game was one that would exhaust even FVV. Amen absolutely deserves all the hype.
Let's not start that divide. I hated the KPJ and later JG preference treatment from the fans and FO, instead of recognizing Sengun as the clear leader. But i would say Amen is better than those two. He's decision making on the offense was questionable in the OKC game, but i hope it will get better. Especially he needs to be better at deferring to Sengun and KD, play less hero ball.
Lol man OKC was still in their Parade mood, they didn't get into the gym and practice until late August. But it was one of the best Regular Season games in the history of the league.
We all should agree Semgun Amen Jabari are the core of the core. Everyone helps each other so the team wins Sengun is the hub and defensive anchor Amen is POA defender and attacker Jabari is the stretch big 3&D JG is all just flash and front running Sengun Amen Jabari are all substance and wins One disappeared in the playoffs while the 3 stepped up Its okay to like one of three more than the other 2
Dividing is definitely not the intention here. My overall point is, I’m just not a fan of people giving the franchise player label to someone who hasn’t earned that yet, solely based off a hypothetical ceiling. We did that with JG and it was a disaster. Amen is worlds above KPJ/JG, but this treatment places unrealistic expectations on his shoulders and sets him up to fail. It’s also disrespectful to Sengun who has accomplished accolades already and is the better player as of today.
based on last years' playoffs, trajectory growth, potential, and defensem, I don't think it's crazy to say the Sengun is franchise player 1A while Amen is franchise player 1B if you are truly a Sengun/Rockets fan, the more stars/more balance the better in terms of winning And not sure why you keep putting KPJ/JG with Amen together The former are losers the latter is a winner just like Alpi
Feeling sensitive and perhaps recognize your own actions in the previous statement? Perhaps you should take your own advice and touch some grass. The rest of us are celebrating the next Rockets homegrown great.
Me too.....said as much.......once he added the 3ball the missing piece, that was enough. Let's go ! Nope, he is a guy whom I personally loaned my NBA league pass sub to years ago, who has done well in business but has become a bit full of himself - and as such was banned here for good reason....his trolling got him banned. We used to be semi-friends - but those days are long gone....I do hope he is happy and his company does well, though....just glad he is gone from here....he also had a few different names here. ATW - Det the Threat to name 2. DD
