Love Ime, but a half-season rental of Mike Malone as OC might do wonders for the Rockets. Malone has the cred to get Ime's respect and attention. Don't know if he has the offensive chops to make a huge difference, but he's used to getting by without a traditional point guard. Caveat: He did it while the world's best player ran his offense. On the other hand, Sengun, while not yet at Jokic's level, plays a similar style. Grab him now, he'll likely be gone with the season's first coach firing.
Also we were a KD turnover, Okojie 4 pt foul, and an Alpi no look TO from winning the game. Let’s give him time , but he does need to run better offensive plays
Rockets hired the wrong Coach Ime Udoka for Reed Sheppard. Jeff Van Gundy, Tom Thibodeu, Ime Udoka Absolutely the same people in Coaching, Defense Only, Terrible Substitution. Playing Steven Adams and Buddy Shield destroyed Steven Adams in Switches with his 3 point shooting. No excuses to defend Ime Udoka, he is terrible in Coaching. Should've gone after Mike Dantoni. Mike Dantoni has boosted Steve Nash, James Harden Career to MVP Level. Jeremy Lin to Near All Star with the Knicks.
Mark D of OKC really is intelligent in using Coaching Challenges Correctly, Substitution Patterns, Great Roster. His offense is Creative unlike Ime Udoka stagnant offense in stretches, Amen Thompson and Reed Sheppard confused in what they should run. Very unwatchable for me. Would rather Box Score Watch, than watch this disaster of a Offense.
The contract extension of Ime Udoka and Fred VanVleet is idiocy and looks even worse now. National Media glazing on Ime Udoka and Fred VanVleet is disturbing.
I’m not worried at all I think ime does a great job at running the team. This was the first game with KD, they’re going to take a few games to find out what works. Ime defense is what keeps you in every game. We identified the missing piece which is Durant. this team will look a lot better with a real PG but I wouldn’t be worried at all right now lol after all we were the 2nd seed in the west last year!
Ime is a top coach with flaws for sure. And as a Small forward his understanding of the guard positions is more limited than I reckoned. Top guards would give him problems in the Clutch.
This is false and a lazy attempt to shade Ime after a tough loss. Pritchard enters his 6th year in the league tonight. He didn’t break out until the latter part of his 4th year. Ime only coached him for 1 season when Pritchard was in his 2nd year. Pritchard had better overall stats and had slightly more playing time under Ime compared to the next season when Mazzulla took over. We lost a tough game on the road in double overtime after a major overhaul of the roster compared to last year and everyone is overreacting (surprise surprise). Ime’s coaching is more than fine. It’s a long ass season. We good.
