The big question is if we are too late for community organizing?? I mean we are in a situation where the House Speaker is literally refusing the seat an elected member of Congress, and there is nobody there to hold him accountable.

All of the work at the community level could be moot if we are already way past all of this, and the only opposition that can do anything is more revolutionary. Throughout history we see that when a tyrannical dictator does what we all think Trump is likely to do in 2026, and especially in 2028, community organizing to win local elections isn't what takes that dictator out. Usually its ALOT more messy, dramatic, somewhat violent, and certainly revolutionary.

I just hope it's not too late and the No-Kings/Indivisible model can be effective quick enough to wield real effective power before Trump and his regime do what we all know they are planning to do in weeks, and months... not years and decades.

The Tea Party movement succeeded in dumbing down the electorate and now we can all see the effects of it.

Makes more sense than a "no kings" waste of time session especially considering Trump was elected by a majority and enacted exactly what he said he would do - American people are sick of soft on crime, vulnerability to real women in sports and society, a very poor and open border in which anybody could come over without going about it the right way... all things That are no longer being ignored

Basically, the no kings protesters are protesting democracy at work.... actually, based on video Interactions with several of them they don't even know what they are protesting about lmao

Could just as easily make the same rant OP made about any modern Democratic administration using/abusing/extending the authority of the executive branch.

It just so happens OP hates Trump, hence the rant.

It's especially funny in light of the fact Biden was just in office and we know he was only awake/ "working" 4 hours a day and never did interviews or answered to the press or anyone else.

Country was run by a bunch of unelected Worm Tongues surrounding Biden.

What a wonderfully Democratic thing that was .

Which modern Democratic administration did the following, as the OP listed?

1- sending of National Guard from states like Texas to Oregon and Illinois without the consent of the local government of those states.
2- tariffs are largely being made not through the legislature but through executive orders.
3- largely governed by executive order rather than through actual legislation. These are essentially kingly decrees that bypass a coequal branch of government. Particularly in deciding to withhold or redirect spending that had been passed by Congress.
4- President is canceling programs and funding to “Democrat states” and is specifically saying he is doing so out of political grievance.
5- President threatening judges that have ruled against him and even saying that he will not abide by rulings that he doesn’t agree with.

No, they are protesting authoritarian or monarchical-style power, not democracy.

Can you not think of any historical examples of people who were elected through a democratic-like process but then exercised authoritarian or monarchical-style powers? There are plenty of examples.

The Democrats are not going to be competitive at the national level going forward -- and all of this will get worse unless the Democrats get more competitive in rural America, even competitive... the DNC isn't even involved in some rural areas. For as crazy as people think Howard Dean was, at least he made efforts as chairman in rural America. Right now the DNC isn't even trying --- and idiots like Pelosi and Schumer don't think that they need to even try in rural America and it is a massive mistake...... and this change in rural America is coming quickly, when Obama won the election, he was competitive and won in some rural areas ----

I don't know how people can look at the President of the United States taking a literal wrecking ball to the White House & awarding himself billions of dollars from the Treasury, with an unaccountable private army beating up children and women while DUMPING **** on his opponents (that is just this week) and saying how he's going to basically suspend elections and say

..."the Democrats need to do more to talk about fracking in rural PA...."

The problem is way, way, way, way way, way, way, way, way, way, way beyond anything the Democratic party or any party leadership has the power to fix or remedy.

Our system has been eroded and destroyed, it is no longer functional.
