I'd prefer to trade FVV and picks for a quality PG. If that isn't possible, then I'd be okay with trading Tari and Reed, but I'd hate to see us send out two young players like this. I love watching Reed develop, and I do believe he will become a nice player.
What a knee-jerk thread. It's one game immediately after he didn't get a life-changing contact extension. Give the guy a break. If he's not playing up to par or still sulking after Christmas then you consider trading him. Let's see how the next month goes then revisit this.
What's an implied no-trade clause? The fact that he can opt-out? No way he does that after missing a season. edit - wow, nevermind. I didn't realize an implied no trade clause was a thing. You learn something new every day.
It's my understanding that he would have to agree to the trade. If that's the case, then there's a chance.
That’s possible if he agrees, but it’s ultimately his decision. I find it very unlikely that he’ll accept a trade, especially this season while he’s still recovering from his injury.
The problem is that Tari has shown, not just this one bad game, but in all prime time pressure games to be not a pressure player. He gets nervous and probably tries too hard. Not the first or last player to do this (i.e. see Jalen Green), but the real problem is that he’ll do fine in the next regular season no pressure games but can’t be relied upon when the games “count”. Trade him for a ball handling point guard.
If Fred doesn't accept the trade, then the Rockets have limited options as far as sending out salary for the trade. Reed makes 10.6M, and Tari makes 5.6M. I guess it all depends on who they are targeting in the trade; Fred's salary would be the only realistic way to send 20+M out.
Yea, Tari was bad last night. It was the first game on the road against the champs. He will play better. Unfortunately I have to admit he has a propensity to fold in the biggest games.
But even if we send out Reed, Tari, and Clint to get to 20+M, we can't sign anymore minimum contracts. So this creates a depth issue
