Acutally FSN here in Dallas did a OK job with the Mavs, they have post game interview after players get out from showers, funny to see Dirk in a rope everytimes he do the post game interview.

Damnit, I prefer my crappy reception of KNWS over my non-reception of FSN.

Now I gotta make nicey-nice with my neighbors so I can watch the Rockets on TV. :(

Are you sure that'll be gone?

They always interview the Astros after their games.

so is the memphis game tonight for sure on fsn? the tivo listings doesn't have either channel playing it but of course one of them is. i'll have to manually set it to record one of the channels before i go to work but i want to make sure and pick the right one.

    Yes, it's on FSN tonight.

I did some asking around. Here's a little more info:

FoxSportsNet is going to do a half hour pregame show before the game each night. It looks like Eschenfeilder (sp) will be the host of that. They'll also do reports after the game.

As Jeff said, Hagadorn will now do courtside work. Also, Matt Bullard will fill in for Van from time to time. I'm guessing that's when Van has Comets duties but I'm not sure. Cooper will still do stories from time to time.

You do know I wasn't sirius about that, don't you?:D

I had forgotten the terms of the deal. It seems fairer than most, over all, but it remains to be seen what the long term effects of the deal will be. (i.e. could levying these taxes have unintended consequences)

I can't believe there was really that little interest in carrying the rockets. I guess people really do want to see all that crappy "network programming".

Oh well, it's all academic now. On the positive side, I'll probably make it to more games now.

Time to chew up these sour grapes and head to Rudyard's.

Believe it. UPN turned them down flat. WB would only show a handful of games only on specific days. Fox doesn't do local programming. End of story.

It isn't an 'interest problem', it's a financial situation. Cost of programming. Control of available ad time. (Plus, where is the synergy? Look at how Fox built their network on the backs of the NFL games. This is not the case for a local basketball package.)

    Same here??

Looks like we still have Bill & Van...we can only hope that they will have their own Halftime show...NO MORE COOP!!!

Im sorry but I really do not like van as Murphy's replacement...if I have to hear him say "3 ball" one more time I am going to kill myself....Its sad to hear him say "this is what the Rockets are going to do...blah blah"...and then they dont do any of it.....sad

No!!!! Damn her, damn her! She's evil.

Rockets probably stipulated her involvement! Oh well, hopefully Coop only gets the "sideline reporter" role...please.

Actually, the networks couldn't take the Rockets if they wanted them. The big network honchos in New York & LA (CBS, ABC, NBC, ect..) will not allow local stations to preempt network shows. Its not up to channel 11 or 13 etc..

I work on a tv show that is statewide, and we syndicate our show in every TV market in the state. There are several stations that would love to put one of our shows on the air live, but the Head Cheese in New York won't let them.
