ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Thunder 10/21/2025

Not going to overreact over the season opener.
Just clean some things up and learn to play with Kevin.

We'll see how long they can go without a natural PG. Its fine for now.

 

Dude got his hand down thinking reed knows how to give him the ball.

 

Clutchfans told me that was overrated.

 

Looked like it was just a cramp. Hope it’s nothing more and he just needs more electrolytes in his diet

 

Lots of Reed fans here not seeing that he is not yet ready. He might be down the road but he needs to pick it up fast especially on defense. Still seeing a ton of rookie errors from him

 

Just sucks that it ended on a mental mistake, and it was in front of OKC fans.

Otherwise, great game.

 

Reed Sheppard Highlights

 

He couldn’t get the ball, gotta give a credit to OKC denying ball to his hand. Gotta remember we just went against the best defensive team.

Guard play mostly horrendous (especially at getting KD the ball)

 

You're good with your go-to offensive weapon- who is on 5 fouls - defending the best player in the NBA... at home... opening night when they got their rings... when there's other capable defenders on the team... with an offensive possession still to come.

Unfortunately the coach thought similarly to you that game.

 

Double OT and on the road against the champs.

People are in thier feelings and agendas but there is definite improvement just in game one.

Sengun looked great, Jabari noticeably improved as well.

Great game! Lots to be encouraged about.

OKC is a tough place to play

 

he was getting blown by by scrubs in summer league too. only IQ deficient stone & udoka think he can actually play pg for a would be contender

 

He doesn’t have good fundamentals with his positioning. Often times tonight, he was overplaying one side and giving his opponent a clear driving lane.

 

As expected, there were some growing pains. But I think the Rockets are gonna be alright this season. Definitely in the mix of strong title contenders.

 

A lot to like about this game, a lot to dislike.

Neither one of these teams will look the same later into the season or into the Playoffs. A lot will change. Heck, you could argue that this is the worst the Rockets will play all year - you gotta think that the players and coaches will figure out how to minimize some of the weaknesses we saw tonight. They will get better and they looked like they belong in the conversation on Game 1.
