Triple A provides a nice towing service; the waits weren't too long when I've used it. Warning, though: they'll only pay for the hookup and the first few miles. (not to mention that it's "roadside" service - not mud service, field service, etc., so if you get stuck offroad, don't expect too much sympathy) It's nice around town, but what if your car breaks down elsewhere? I had one break down right smack between Houston and Austin. At least AAA could hook me up with someone. They got one out of Brenham to take me back. It got expensive - $200 - but that's given the long distance. Things could have been a lot worse. The driver was a very cool guy and told lots of funny towing stories. Still, I signed up for Triple A Plus after that. More expensive but better coverage for situations like that. Much better, btw, than my manufacturer's "roadside service". I had a Saturn at the time. I tried calling them, too, but they said that they would only pay to take it to the nearest dealership. In other words, it would have wound up in College Station. And what was I supposed to do then?
ALSO the ****ers will Break something and you have to pay for it If they Tow u improperly . . .BOOM ya alignment could be shot your frickin breaks maybe . . axle. . . and they act like nothing is there fault Don't mention your person crap left in there that they just OUT AND OUT STEAL!! RMT, you ain't alone. In California one tow company charges $125 for the first 30 min, then $75 there after. Most others charge $85 for a start.
