Don’t think this will happen. Celtics fans talk about Pritchard like he’s prime Manu Ginobili.

What makes you think other teams will overpay for him? Nobody offered Grimes anything and unlike Tari that dude had a monster season and was also mostly healthy.

Next year Rox will have more capspace than this year. The cap will rise by 7% and KD's salary will go down by 10M. Rox are well positioned to match any all reasonable offers. Tari at the end of the day hasnt played a full season and only averages 10/6/1. You think a rival team will offer him the max or something? lol

Teams won’t have to overpay for Tari. They will just have more flexibility to give him the money he wants. If the reports are true, it was only a 5 million dollar gap between the sides. It’s different than Kuminga and Grimes. Teams thought they were asking for way more than they were worth.

If its just 5M gap Rox can match. Thats the whole point of RFA. Remember when Ayton hated staying in PHX but had no choice cuz PHX matched? Even if its an overpay Rox can match to trade him later on just like what GSW did with Kuminga.

No, the whole reason we didn’t extend is because the 5 million would have put us over the first apron. That isn’t going change. We prioritized extending Amen next year.

What do you mean? We only have, like, 150m in guaranteed contracts next season. Amen’s extension wouldn’t kick in until 2027.

I’d trade Tari for Yang Hansen straight up.

Yeah, that’s true. I guess we have one more year than I thought with Amen. But he’s still the reason we can’t give Tari what he wants in RFA

Lots of time between now and the deadline. No need to make a panic trade. Play the guys we have through the New Year and start making plans if needed around mid January.

Acting like Tari is so much better than Prichard is what’s insane. Maybe you are surprised because you don’t know as much as you think you do….

Should’ve packaged him with FVV and picks for KD like I preached all summer

We probably could’ve kept Dillon and have Green & Cam in the guard rotation

Oh man, I love Tari, but I think that's a yes from me. Pritchard is already pretty much what we hope Reed will become. He'd fit perfectly.

Didnt you read my post? The cap is increasing by 7% and KD salary will decrease by 10M. Amen new deal wont take effect next season.

Why is it so insane? I do think Tari is the better player, but Payton Pritchard is no slouch. The difference certainly isn't great enough for the OP to be "laughed off the Forum." Pritchard averaged more PPG (15 v. Tari's 12) than Tari last season on a much better TS% (.63 v. Tari's .567) while shooting 40% from 3. Pritchard was Sixth Man of the Year, which is a title Tari is striving for this year. Pritchard also played 80+ games each of the last two seasons, whereas Tari hasn't played 80 games the last two seasons combined. Tari has a lot of warts that many on this board refuse to acknowledge.
