Do you have any idea what the reaction wouldve been if a democratic president held a million dollar fundraiser in the middle of a shut down? MAGA @Os Trigonum wouldve started 10 different threads by now.

I kind of want them to go ahead and end it and then swear in the new lady from Az and then vote to release the Epstein files. As bad as it is, anyone paying attention knows that Ins is a HUGE key and let them go into effect and then see if they can negotiate.

tramp don't give 2 ****s about it being shut down and Johnson is using it to not swear in the Az lady, the point is made

There was one senator who wants to pass a bill that this can't happen again, this is turning into a yearly fiasco

Trump has decided that ICE and DHS will continue to get paid even during the shutdown. With what money and from where, no one really knows. They can do the same for supreme court functions he deems necessary, too.

The US government died October 1st. Not just shutdown temporarily while a few things get sorted out, this **** is gone permanently.

We all assumed Mike Johnson is refusing to pass a budget bill and reopen the house to prevent Grijalva from being sworn in and vote on releasing the Epstein files, but I don't think that's the case. There have been a string of supreme court cases handing congressional powers to the executive, so Trump doesn't need the house to reopen at all. They can just stay closed forever.

With no congress and no power of the purse, and now Trump is just going to imagine whatever funding he wants to have, the government has now truly been pared down to only the functions he needs it to have. Namely:

    1. The prosecution of Trump's political enemies (such as John Bolton)

    2. The bankrolling of anyone who wants to bribe Trump personally. (Such as Argentinian President Milei)

    3. The persecution of Hispanic individuals, whether citizens or not.

    4. The legal rubber-stamping of the above by the supreme court.
That's it. That's all the US government is going to do anymore.

I get and agree with your point.
Just pointing out for accuracy that the military is still getting paid at present.
    That's all.

The Democrats want to spend ANOTHER $1.5 trillion on extending enhanced COVID-era healthcare insurance benefits that were always intended to expire. Why were they always intended to expire? Because we were in a COVID emergency and stepped up the spending level. Obviously we are no longer in COVID times. NOW they try to make the enhanced COVID-era benefits permanent. This is exactly how the Democrats spent their way into 9% inflation. They want the government to pay for these luxury healthcare benefits for everyone (including illegals)... and they don't give a rip about the deficit. The deficit is what leads to inflation -- pure and simple. And this is why Democrats are the party of inflation.

Meanwhile most of us eat right, workout, make good decisions, and stay healthy... and then have to pay higher healthcare insurance rates for all the Democrat slobs who want their Ozempic and transgender surgeries. You have a responsible group of people who are accountable (Republicans) and then you've got the leeching class who want government to pay for their entire lifestyle and everything that falls out from their horrible choices. Nah, I'll pass.

SeƱor Maquilador, it would be wise to not tarnish the transformational medical power of Ozempic due to its popularity among the slovenly. Their heft at the polls and constant need for more elastic fabrics is a boon to our economy's growing waistband.
