There seems to be more parity in the NFL every year. You tell me what team or teams are standing out as the teams to beat this season. The 1-seeds are currently Indianapolis in the AFC & Tampa Bay in the NFC. So my advice is save your money, don’t place bets on this NFL, & flip a damn coin in most matchups every week. Houston at Seattle? At least Houston’s defense shortens the point differential compared to other matchups, but I’ll be damned if I know who will win
Byron Murphy has 4.5 sacks! I hope he continues in the tradition of great Longhorn DT… except Monday. Please good god don’t let him feast on Andrews and Scruggs.
Murph has blossomed in his 2nd year. It'll be a fun experience with the Texans inside OL. They didn't exactly handle Via Vea very well
Seattle is not as good as their record suggest. If the Texans want to be taken seriously and get back on track, they need to handle the Seahawks like they can and like they should. If they’re for real, 27-13. If they’re not, 6-14.
Lol, when I was stationed in the Philippines I'd watch the games from 1AM to 4AM, go workout afterwards and be at work by 0730. Of course that was back in the days of the Oilers!
Only good offense they faced they got 35 dropped on them, had some fortunate bounces vs Pitt and Tampa, struggled vs Jags who were missing key pieces. I also just think they’re overrated cause a couple of prominent talking heads(Cowherd, Kimes) glaze Sam Darnold. They have a ton of talent, and will prob win the NFC West, but I think the Bucs would beat them in a rematch.
That’s fair. But they still beat Jags who beat us, the Steelers is a good win and played Bucs and 9ers well. They’ve played a very strong schedule already and are 4-2. The glaze for Darnold is warranted, he’s played very well, specially for a team that wasn’t expected to do well by the preseason pundits.
I saw a few had them winning the West(as did I), but I just still don’t believe in Sam Darnold. He played well last year…until like week 13/14 then fell off a cliff. He’s in the Daniel Jones category of “waiting for regression back to the mean” IMO. I also think their secondary is not good outside of Witherspoon, and their overall defense is just ok. It helps that they have IMO a very good young coach. I think they’ll lean into the run more as the year goes on. The Texans defense has also punished every team they’ve faced. If the offense shows that 5 quarters of good play isn’t a fluke then I see them winning comfortably.
We will see with Darnold, a full season of great play and 6 games of elite play so far this season. Maybe he regresses, maybe this is why he was drafted. Who knows. He did light up our defense last year. Hoping our defense keeps us in the game and the O is like last game instead of the first 3.
As someone who needed Darnold to not suck at the end of the year(fantasy) he most definitely was terrible the latter half of the season. KOC and Flores are both very underrated as coaches, Darnold turned back into his old self late last season. But it’s still early this season so he hasn’t gotten to typical pumpkin turning season. TBH I thought Seattle was setting themselves up to have the Russel Wilson situation pt.2 with Milroe, but Milroe looked like Lamar without an arm during the preseason
Tampa did beat them, completely read that score wrong, thanks for correcting me!(I also think Tampa might be SB bound)
don't trust our o-line to hold up in protection, this will be a regression to the start of the season
