The prosecution isnt the issue. If the original prosecutors decided to bring the case, cool. The president directing prosecution, firing and hiring prosecutors to game the outcome and interfering with the autonomy of the country's justice system to get petty personal revenge is.

[Axios] Exclusive: Prominent Republicans slam Trump for "abuses of power"

Does anybody remember when the simple revelation that Nixon KEPT a list of his enemies was enough to traumatize the nation? "The Enemies list" was still in the public psyche right up until he kicked the bucket - after Watergate it was probably the #1 thing people were outraged about when discussing Nixon after Watergate - using the office to settle personal feuds - and he never did anything like Trump's done with James - possibly something in private that nobody knew about, but definitely not out in public for everybody to see without any shame like Trump.

Guess that ship has sailed. Perhaps Nixon was just ahead of his time.

Trump should probably stage a break-in at the Watergate and invite Newsmax along just to flex how above the law he is.

Sure. Which probably explains why prosecutors most of the time feel heat for bringing cases they can't win. If we did that all the time, the system would stop working altogether. A couple of one-offs isn't going to break the system. Here, they bring a likely specious case. Leticia James will suffer expense, bureaucracy and official harassment for awhile (aside-- we've done much worse to others in our judicial system). Maybe at the end, she can sue for prosecutorial misconduct and get a payday. Or not. But, imo the answer is not that you can't bring indictments in politically-charged cases. If that were so, we would never be able to charge a crooked president.

IMO trump doesn't care if there is a conviction, he just wants the perp walk and the headache there going to have to go through, the tweet tramp sent to Pam to get these folks will come back to bite him along with the attacks over the past few years

Of course you can bring indictments, and at times should. Historically we've probably been too far lenient, but this is a bad indictment on multiple fronts.

There is a legitimate case against the Fed Governor, just a hard one to prove beyond reasonable doubt and never prosecuted because of it.
There is a legitimate case against Comey, but the same thing.

There is zero question, the DOJ is no longer even the slightest bit independent.

LOL, where were you when Trump was indicted four times on the most ridiculous charges ever heard of?

Thankfully the American public is wise to the fact that the Democrats abused the legal system to pursue political opponents... and the voting public corrected the issue by voting in Trump again.

let's steer back to the topic of discussion, the Letitia James indictment

as a busy news cycle comes to an end, just before the week-end. there is this news leak
from AG Pam Bondi's office, Gavin Newsom calls her the pedaphile protector, https://www.msn.com/en-ie/news/worl...-indictment-from-trump-prosecutor/ar-AA1OeUQS

Bondi and DOJ officials were ‘caught off guard’ by the Letitia James
indictment presented by Trump prosecutor, the former insurance attorney

this is a chronology of the Letiitia James indict, as "pre-school like" as it is !

back in April 2025, when the pedophile protector was on TV

AG Bondi's US attorney Siebert, taked with the investigation,.had indicated that the evidence against James was weak.

    on 20 Sep, 2025
“We can’t delay any longer,” Trump posted on Truth Social in a message directed to “Pam.
Trump then announced the firing of Siebert and the hiring of white house aide, Lindsey Halligan to preceed w the indictment.

    on Oct 2025
Halligan, an insurance attorney with no presecution experience, presented the indictment agaubst James

    on Fri, 10 May 2025
this underscores how desperate the pedophile protector wants to distance herself from this "pre-school like indictment !

on the day after the indictment was presented, DoJ's office leaked out this

Why Trump’s WH Aide Went Behind Bondi’s Back ?

It Looks Like Trump 2.0's AG Is Being Undercut by Trump,
via his WH Aide Lindsey Halligan

    • During Trump 1.0,
      • AG Bill Barr's short summary of Mueller's report saying that there is no evidence of Russian interference of th 2016 election
      • Barr was later undercut by Trump---leading to the AG resigning---when
        • AG concluded that his DoJ found no evidence of widespread voter fraud during the 2020 election
    • In Trump 2.0
      • AG contradicted her earlier claim on Fox TV when she tesified that there was no Epstein client list
      • Is Being Undercut by Trump,
        • out of the loop on the indictment against Lettitia James
