I'm not a huge Rush superfan but it's awesome to see the response they're getting from fans and that they're added dates.
Today is the Citi presale. Are you a Citi cardmember? The Ticketmaster pre-sale is on Monday Oct. 13th at 12 pm local venue time...is my understanding. Also, since they added events late after you may have signed up for the pre-sale events, I missed out on two of the four events. I didn't realize you could go back in and add the other two events to your pre-sale events. If you didn't do that by the pre-sale deadline, then you don't have pre-sale access to those events.
Yes i'm citi bank. My son said he did pre sale and claimed first two dates. Tried to move to the weekend dates, and it would not let him which is fine. Take train down Thursday morning, chill in the city. See the show. Stay over, chill some more, catch 4pm train home and dinner by 6pm in my house.
That's friggin awesome, I remember my one and only to trip to Westchester I was amazed that amount of people parked at the train station to take that into the city, talk about a convenience and a way to cut down on the amount of cars coming into town, whats it cost to do that or do you have some type of pass?
Guess my strategy for pre-sale for two pre-sale events is to use the Ticketmaster app on the iPad for one event and log into the website for the other event. That way...I'm not getting flagged and extra "are you a human?" bs by having two separate browsers for each event on the same PC. Copilot said it can be problematic and the separation I'm doing will help. But, I'll get pre-sale tickets and then check out regular on-sale to see if I can get better for another date. If so, then may end up seeing them twice or sell the other tickets. Also, at least on the TM pre-sale, apparently it matters if you join the pre-sale room 15-30 minutes before the event because they take those people and randomly assign you a number in the queue. And, that queue determines who gets the better seats first based on your position. But, apparently there are several VIP package tiers with the top one being guaranteed front row seats and a meet n greet. Those are probably real hard to get. I might take a stab at it just for kicks. Not sure I want to pay $1k for one front row seat apiece and meet n greet. It's tempting, though.
Anike Nilles statement on social media: Hey there, the past few days have been quite overwhelming. I’m sure many of you feel the same. I want to take a moment to sincerely thank Geddy and Alex for their trust and for welcoming me on this incredible new journey with @rush . I also don’t want to miss the chance to warmly welcome all the new faces here and to thank you for your kind and open-minded words - they truly mean a lot. At the same time, I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has followed and supported my journey over the years. We’re all in this together now, and I couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead.
They only released about 6 sections today. 75% were vip tix at about 1k each ticket. I will try again Monday for fan pre-sale. I was in waiting room as soon as it opened. Once it placed me in que I was # 10,842
They draw some dumb hot blondes who want to be smarter. I’ve seen them! Anika may draw some hot smart ones, especially the lesbophiles.
I got 6th row aisle section 105 - $350 but I'd pay a slight premium for Sat night. Their announcement seems to indicate they will be playing different sets so I'll shoot for nosebleeds for Monday night. I was so tempted to throw down the Big Money to be up front but I have kids in college...alas.
I can already tell this presale is going to be a clusterf ck the way this works. Basically, you need your queue # to come in under 1,000 preferrably and under 5,000 probably for any decent chance at regular seats. Over 10,000 and I'm not even waiting around. I don't like this new way versus the first come first serve before. Best chances are probably for regular on-sale. I don't care where I'm sitting this time. Screw the floor. Been there...done that for Rush a few times using VIP and some just bought regularly. If everyone in surrounding states is flocking to Fort Worth for these dates, then I may be lucky to just be in the building. We will see. I hate this.
That went a lot smoother than I thought it would. The double device ticket buying process with one person was kind of a flop. I just focused on the PC as too difficult to multitask quickly. But, I got in thinking the prices would be lower...so had some sticker shock. But, I was only like 40-something in line and even less than that on the iPad. The iPad had a problem where it didn't pull up any tickets initially so I was busy on the PC and couldn't troubleshoot it. Turns out the TM app had a default of 1 ticket selected whereas the website had a default of 2. That's all I could see. But, app said "no tickets were found for your options selected". Umm...they are the f-ing defaults. Pull something up already. So, I basically got lower prom on side slightly toward the back row 3. But, $768 for 2 seats after including parking and fees. Yikes. The lower prices were in the back sections. Got the Wednesday show (the first show).
Update, after not liking any of the seats offered in the Citi card pre-sale, I decided to look at Stub Hub to see what's out there and I grabbed two seats in Section 102 at Madison Square Garden. For 475 each. Sat in the same section for Radiohead 7 years ago good seats. Whoever is going just be prepared for some sticker shock.
I'm going to wait until after Christmas when all of this isn't so hyped up and then check StubHub, GameTime, etc. I have some family in Ft. Worth I could stay with so maybe I'll make it a concert/family visit. I may even wait until the week of when resellers get desperate and prices go down. Sorry, I'm not paying more than $250 tops. If I can't find anything for less than that, so be it. I've seen them 5 or 6 times already with Neil (obviously) so I'm not going to bust the bank seeing this version. The Police reunion was different because I had never seen them live before and I was willing to pay anything. And of course it was all original members.
The title of this thread gives me serious cognitive dissonance. You're in a rush (why?) to reunite (with whom?) and tour with a new drummer (aren't you a drummer?).
