Because we can see the flashes, it’s obvious he’s going to be our point guard of the future. But since he already has so much talent around him, you have to insert him now so he can mature faster before we even realize it.

Reed's not good enough to be a starter on a contending team right now, but he's shown enough to at least give him a shot for 20-30 games. Best case he shows enough to be a 5th starter. If he sucks then they should just try to trade for someone at the deadline.

It's not but Holiday has been in the league longer and has gotten more reps.

My point was I think an undersized point guard on a team with playoff and beyond aspirations will take longer to develop. I still think Reed is more a combo guard and will be more of a Derrick White type connector if hits.

Reed will be a good player in the league, hopefully it’s this year. He reminds me a bit of Steve Nash other than the fact he has a propensity to pick up his dribble way too soon. I think the court vision is really good, although he can be turnover prone. If he’s not a liability on defense, I could see him getting a lot of minutes.

I think you start him simply for the reason that he can just play his role and space the floor. Eason serves better as a spark off the bench that can flip the game around, he feels a bit clunky as a starter.

We can clearly see he plays better when the focus is away from him which is not a bad trait either. Curry also hide from defenders when he is off the ball but he is excellent letting his teammates knows where he’ll be. Reed gotta learn that right now he is hiding from everyone but excellent that KD gave him huge confidence boost on 3rd quarter

He is our best option as a starting PG at the moment.

Reed is starting. Can revisit after DFS comes back but this one's over.

DFS should come off the bench with Tari. Let Reed get comfortable as a starter.

Need the young guys out there with Durant. He's a security blanket - he imbues them with confidence. Starting Bari and Reed with him is absolutely right. Let the vets come off the bench.

The problem with starting Reed that is inevitable: all 3 of Sengun, KD and Sheppard struggle defensively when they’re ISO’d on the perimeter. Can’t have 3 of those. You’re only starting one elite defender in this lineup. That defense is not going to be as good as our last 2 seasons and I don’t think Ime will accept it.

When Reed is having growing pains early in the season, let’s see if Ime can resist the urge to pretend like it’s not working and insert a defender instead.

Reed played with a lot of pride in his defense tonight. I liked what I saw. Played within himself on offense and worked on the things the coaches wanted him to work on.

Did you not watch FVV on defense last season?

If Reed was black, everyone would be saying to start him and that the Rockets are ruining his career by not playing him. I said it.

I think Reed would have started regardless of whether or not DFS was healthy. I think unfortunately Jabari would have been the one battling for a spot. I say unfortunately because Jabari has looked great and should absolutely be starting.

If Reed came out and looked like absolute trash, then I think Holiday would be the 5th starter and Reed the backup.

People can think what they want about his ball handling and passing, but the fact is he is one of the better ball handlers and passers on the team. Given the makeup of the starting unit that extra ball handling and passing is needed. They don't need another player that is a 3 and D guy out there with the starters. They need somebody who at least has some ability to handle the ball, get to spots and either get a shot or find open teammates.

And I also think this is why Davison has gotten some run with the starters as well.

Since Fred went down, the biggest complaint about the team has been the lack of a PG and not enough players to handle the ball...Even before he went down, most were wanting another guard on the team. ....The solution to that is to let Reed (And Davison) get reps to become the PG's we need...Not to start Tari or DFS as the 5th starter. That doesn't solve that issue at all and while the defense would be better, we saw last year how far really good defense and unsustainable offense takes you.
