We need an Augustin or Prigioni type of addition, Reed and Amen looked like they never played PG before

when guaging if Amen, in the absensce of FVV can help Sengun facilitate the offense

I won't be just looking at this first meaningless preaseason game of the season where FVV was just recently injured

I'd look at last season especially the playoffs

He was 3rd in assists next to Sengun and FVV
2nd to Sengun in Assist to Pass %
Tied for 2nd in usage with JG next to Sengun

and I don't think anyone is sayin Amen will be primariy facilitator of the offense in the absence of FVV or a true PG. That's baby Jokic's job.

It is painfully obvious that we need a point guard. Forgot how bad a passer Holliday was. He’s good at threes and some defense, but can’t run a team for his life. Reed/Amen clearly more suited for off guard. FVV was a floor general and it will need to be addressed at some point this season as each year of 37 year old Durant will be deminishing returns.

The last two years our third stringers were almost unplayable and unable to work together to hold any lead. It's so nice to have NBA-level talent at the stay-ready level.

With Davison upside on offense, if he shows any defensive chops in these preseason matchups, how is he not carving out at least 10 minutes a game as the backup PG? He checks lots of boxes we need: steady handle, physicality, quickness, catch-and-shoot ability, can throw a lob, etc.

Hopefully, Ime will see the light and take a break from playing Holiday. He's only offers a streaky scoring spark and is not a great fit at the point. If he's out there at his natural SG position, we're pretty exposed defensively.

With the way some of these guys played, you'd think it was the first pre-season game of the year...

JD looks like an ugly woman. We haven't had that since Ty Ty Washington left. Feels good having that kind of representation back on the roster again.

We have the best drag princess..... would cheer and throw up at the same time.

Looks like AD had a one night threesome with capybara and a tapir.

    Some thoughts:
    • Sengun - looked good, confident and less hesitant than last year at times. Still sometimes too late with his passes, but at least he won’t allow himself to be rushed. Also no whining. Eurobasket did him good.
    • Jabari - 1st half was great, confident in his shot and on his drives. Second half looked more like the old one, still too many fade away shots to my liking and hesitant to drive.
    • Tari - had some nice creative ways to finish lay-ups which was a good sign. Still cannot dribble worth a **** though.
    • Amen - not his best game, but his effort was there and we knew he was never going to be a better PG overnight.
    • Reed - had his moments, nice drives, but too rushed at times.
    • Davidson - easily the most eye opening performance, loved his poise and confidence in his shot.
    • Okogie - had some solid defensive plays, not much else.
    • Adams - could not be moved, had some fun out there, lovely dunk.
    • Capela - nice lob catch and a block or two, but man he’s fat / big and he’s there to rebound. Did seem to move quite fast considering the size.
Was far from a perfect game, very sloppy and 5-6 minutes in the 2nd or 3rd quarter I believe where we couldn’t score. Holding on to the ball and allowing Dyson Daniels to just take it out of their hands was definitely something. Also still way too many turnovers and not getting back on defense, an issue going back to last year. Commentary crew was tripping balls, talking about anything but the game for quite a while there, but at least no annoying “heyyyy” and that stupid laugh by Hollins every single highlight play. Made the Jabari dunk more enjoyable for sure ;)
